Purchased the cats pride clumping litter while on sale to try it out. I'm not picky about litter, as long as it clumps! I'm a daily box scooper (single cat), so my review will not include anything regarding longevity of odor control. 1. The jug is definitely easy to carry and lighter than expected. 2. I promptly pour the litter into a larger litter bin. When pouring, there was definitely less dust than some other brands. So I say the "less dust" claim is accurate. 3. The fragrance is ok. I mixed this with another brand that uses the scent of Gain. Because I really like the scent of the Gain, but that litter is certainly double the price of Cats Pride. And I have found that mixing does not effect the litter at all. 4. Good clumping & easy to scoop. Again, daily scooper here, so I cannot attest to the clumping after being used for more than a day. Overall, price and quality definitely make this brand litter something I will keep on my shopping list.

We have 5 cats and two of the electric green litter boxes that are sold here by Amazon. Only one of the litter boxes still works, we have to scoop the other one regularly. Even though this is not a light cat litter, it works great in the box that works, it is more affordable than the Meijer's cat litter that we have used for the past 10 years, and poo clumps up without taking masses of the litter with it when removed from the box. We have some big kitties that pee in mass amounts, and this litter really does hold up to it all. It sends the urine to stick to the the bottom of the working box tho, but I think this is only because we have to put less litter in the box so that the Mechanics in the litter box will work properly (those really do work best with LIGHT litter, but this stuff doesn't seem to come in an affordable light version.) We only fill the working box with about an inch and a half of litter and refill every other day as needed. Two containers of this litter will last us for more than two weeks most weeks. The rescues keep on coming, so we can not afford a new electric box, nor to fix the two that are broken --yes, we have a third box, but that is broken and in the basement for one of our cats who just can't tolerate the others most of the time, so I did not mention that one as she is the only cat who uses that box. We have not had to change the litter in THAT box for about 3 months now...just scoop and add a bit in every couple weeks to replace whats used. We use the unscented, and it still keeps the ammonia smell down during times when we have been sick and could not get to it fast enough. Great litter, and I will continue to use it so long as the price stays around where it has been. Buying more expensive products means I can not rescue more cats...so...I love this stuff!

Best cat litter I've found. Holds odor and last quite awhile. Does track litter a little bit but not even close to a lot of the others.

We've been very happy with this kitty litter. We switched to this brand a few months ago. I wanted to wait before leaving this review. I'm the one that scoops the boxes clean each evening. We have 3 cats and 2 large boxes. I keep the area very clean. Have rubber mats as they step out of the boxes. The other big brand we used for years produced too much dust. That was my reason for switching to this one. It isn't dust free BUT it's a lot less dust. There is never any odor. I also love the pour container. The other stuff we used came in heavy cardboard boxes with a little plastic handle on top. Too heavy for me. These containers are good. We have three girls, all fixed. I also believe that makes a difference in kitty litter boxes. I've had boys before and they might spray at times and sometimes the urine smells. I have not any problems with my girls. The most important thing is to CLEAN your litter boxes every single day. Don't wait or skip a day! What if that were your toilet? How would you like it? lol yuk! I also once a week use Lysol wipes from Amazon to wipe the inside of the walls of the litter boxes to make sure they are clean and sanitary. One wipe per box works fine. I use lemon scent. When I first started buying the "Cat’s Pride Odor Control Lightweight Clumping Cat Litter with MaxPower" I thought it was great, would have given it 5 stars. It seemed to live up to its name; it was lightweight, clumped and absorbed much of the litter box odor. And it was a great value. But... lately something has changed whether in the manufacturing of the product or something else I don't know. My cat is clean and I scoop her litter box every day and never used to have lingering odors. But lately three things are happening with this litter: -- It's no longer clumps. The urine just soaks into the litter and when I try to scoop it, it just sifts through the slots in the scoop. -- Because it doesn't clump, the box gets smelly fast because the urine just saturates the litter. My cat has sure noticed the change! She likes to be clean and she used to scratch, scratch, scratch to cover her "business" before she walked out of her litterbox. Now when she pees she turns around and sniffs it then just runs away. (Although she still buries her poop). -- Aside from the odor, because the urine isn't clumping and just soaks through, it's very difficult for me to keep the litterbox clean. I've begun to have to buy a separate litter deodorizer to mix in with the smelly litter before I add fresh to the top. I'm a disabled senior citizen and can't afford to throw out all the litter every time; that's why I depend on cat litter that clumps and is easy to scoop. I'm really not just trashing the litter, the seller or the manufacturer; I'm just writing a straight-forward review. Anybody can look up all my Amazon reviews and see that they are fair and honest. The next time I buy litter I plan on researching other brands and will try something else even if it means having to pay a bit more -- if that's what it takes to make Minnie and I both happy.
