Snappy Tools 3/16 Inch x 3/8 Inch Countersink #43312

I've been using the same set of Snappy driver/drill bits for over 25 years and they are the best. If a bit breaks you can switch it out with a bit you buy at the lumber yard/hardware store. The counter sink and driver chuck has never failed me, not like some competing brands whose bits are pressed into the driver chuck and can spin out. Snappy bits are money well spent. I purchased this countersink bit because I installed a tapered bit from a competitor's tapered countersink set that, as I described above, spun out of the chuck, into my Snappy 9/64" countersink chuck. The competitor's bit had a knurl on it, which was supposed to keep it in its original chuck. With hard use the tapered bit broke in my snappy countersink chuck. I thought I would need to replace the chuck because I thought I had ruined it putting the tapered bit in it. So I ordered this replacement set to complete my original 25 year old set. After I purchased this new countersink set I attempted to remove the broken bit from my original countersink bit. I did in fact manage to remove it, so now I have two 9/64" countersink bits. I know this is a wordy review, but Snappy is a good product, well made and tool you can use happily for years if not decades. I am in the construction industry and use these bits A LOT.

Seems like a quality product in terms of materials and craftsmanship. I will look to Snappy again if I need a different size countersink bit. I’m not sure if it’s my own lack of experience with the tool and really how it should be, but the countersink for me, was much too large for the #8 screw head I was sinking. Once I realized I just needed to not drill as deep to get a tighter fit, it worked fine for me, but it takes away from the user friendly nature. In the end it worked for my needs and I’d buy again.

These are not only quick change for your drill/driver, but they are heavy duty in comparison with some other products out there. You can change the drill bit if it breaks and the countersink parts works for a long time (wood only).

Great for installing deck screws. I used to keep two drills, one with a regular bit and one for a countersink to make holes in composite decking before installing screws. This does the same thing in one step. I had one like this before but the allan screw that holds the replaceable bit stripped making it useless. Hopefully this one will last longer.

I seem to need a good countersink hole quit often and have tried several other countersink tools with only limited success, whereas this one is great.

Used this to mount the brackets for a cooler on my boat. It did a great job both drilling the hole and countersink without any chipping or cracking.

Snappy always does a great job and the functionality is great.

Snappy Tools have always served me well.

It’s the best drill bit anyone ever invented. To me. Truly excellent American quality. As a cabinet maker I’ve been working with it for almost 20 years. Sadly lost my last one on job and sadly you can’t get them from local hardware store anymore. Thanks goodness there is Amazon out there.
