I've been getting into making these little wooden puzzles, and had been wanting a rubber band gun to plink around the house with. I was torn between this one and the Wolf-01 from Ugears - I'll eventually get that one, I'm sure. However these... these have been a blast! Building it was a lot of fun, though it is worth mentioning you will want to make sure you have a sharp knife or exacto knife on hand - one of the issues I ran into is I didn't cut some of the toothpicks flush on some of the parts, causing my rubber band gun to seize up once. Once I realized that was the problem, I was able to clear it out and now the action is much smoother! I ended up liking the build and gun that I ended up picking up two of them, and the second one went much smoother! I would definitely recommend it - I think both kits took me about 1-2 hours each. Easy to put together, and they come with everything included except for a knife (and maybe a set of needle-nose pliers to help break the tooth picks cleanly. I just scored the bottom of the toothpicks with the exacto knife and snapped them that way, sanding down the break-off point to make it look neater.) I also had to test support, as while troubleshooting the first gun I damaged one of the pieces that keeps the gun held close. However, Wood Tricks was quick to send a replacement part to resolve the issue, so so far I'd highly recommend these!

I love the design of this and it took some time to build which was perfect for me when I needed something to do on my spare time. The separate mags is also interesting and it's fun to fiddle with, but I had followed the manual closely and I have not gotten this to work. I took it apart and tried different approaches and even re-did what I saw on the manual and I just can't squeeze the trigger once mag is loaded. Although I was disappointed in not being able to barrage someone in rubber bands it's still a nice thing to keep at my desk and toy with.

I bought this for my son. We've been building it together. Fun activity. Made well enough.

The gun will not work as designed. The puzzle is difficult but not impossible to put together (could have been five stars, but); the materials are incredibly cheap and will break easily if you are not careful (would have been four if I could have stopped there, but); The gun requires a number of small rubber bands for internal mechanisms, those rubber bands are super brittle and break almost as soon as you look at them, also there are not any extras (that would have dropped it to three, but); the firing mechanism as it is designed will not work, it requires a rubber band to wrap around the firing pin which is held in place by two stationary toothpicks, the band simply loses tension on the toothpicks, not moving the pin at all and nothing can be done to fix the issue based on the design and instructions (would have been an angry two stars, but); quality control on these is horrible, I ordered two and one came with missing pieces. I opened the box which was still sealed in plastic, the internal pieces were still sealed in plastic as well, opened those up and there were pieces punched out and missing! Luckily I was able to use the rubber bands from the second kit to replace the broken bands from the first one, at least. However, I still don't have a working model, incredibly disappointed, not worth the time effort or money, (it earned it's one star).

I like this one. The thickness of the wood makes it sturdy and the parts don't feel like they are going to snap when you remove them. The direction are simple and easy to understand. Overall I think it's great. I haven't completed it yet but when I do I can't wait to test it out on the targets!
