i really like this version
i really like this version. First of all,I like the U.K. album cover better, even though Jimi hated it. Also, on the first disc, the order of the tracksand the absence of singles (which are on the second disc) make it a much more cohesive album than the u.s. version. My only gripe is that there is no "true" Stereo version of this album available. This one was digitally remastered from the the original mono, The more recent U.S. version is remastered in analog, so I am going get that one too. Someone posted that both stereo versions sound better than the mono in which you don't hear the highs and the lows as much. This is the opposite of the old rolling stones albums, in which you hear more of the highs and lows on the original mono than on the "electronically reprocessed" stereo ones that came out after. An all-time great album and a true classic, no matter what version or format you hear....1/12/21- upon further review, i must say that i was mistaken-back in '67, A.Y.E. was realeased in different mono and stereo mixes. This version is remastered from the original STEREO version, not the mono one. the problems is it is a DIGITAL remaster, and it is does sound compressed. The 2014 release (with US Cover and track selection) is an ALL ANALOG remaster, and sounds much better on vinyl. You get surface noise, but the staging is much better

Live in the Experience.
This is a classic album. It has been a captivating musical experience ever since it first release in 1967. This has made the lists of top 100 albums and most influential debuts time and time again. In 2005, Rolling Stone ranked 'Are You Experienced' fifteenth on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Even the Library of Congress, in recognition of the cultural significance of this relase, added it to the National Recording Registry, allowing it to live in it's infamy and glory. This was one of those projects I've had on CD for sometime, and needed to; own, hear and experience it on Vinyl. The Vinyl Record is 200grams, t's decent and runs super silent and smooth. It feels heavy and well worth the price. It is an original analog pressing. I had not realized it was not a stereo release that when I purchased it, but it adds to the experience in many ways and allows you to relive it's original state. The cover is the classic cover used on the original North American Release. The cover is just simple, it's super glossy and coated and feels cheap compared to the vinyl record itself. The sleeve inside is just non-static plastic and wroth switching out with a protective paper sleeve. Their are no inserts, lyrics or extras.Soon as it arrived I ripped off the plastic to get to it. I threw it on our turntable and let that thing pump in all of it's might. You know as a music fan, the weight of the songs on this record. You know it's impact. At full volume, you want to live in it's analog experience.
