Universal Smartphone Mount, Black, Adjustable, Compatible with GoPro Cameras and iPhones

Bought it. Like the strap and suction cups but it’s just too bulky. It hurts my head when a phone it attached, and with the suction cups, although they hold great, you can’t see any part of the camera controls. Is this thing even on? Can’t tell. It’s too much of a hassle to try to see if it’s even on. I’m sending back. It’s not worth it to me to miss precious footage I’m wondering if it’s recording or not.

Action Mount's head strap and smartPhone adapter was something I've been looking at for quite some time. I finally got it today and I can't wait to try on my kayaking and biking days. Also I had this paired with my recent purchase of the Imvio case with lens (Wide and fisheye) so I can have the GoPro like video on my iPhone without spending $200.The Action Mount Smartphone holder feels like it was solidly built and will stay on your head snugly. Becareful not to put it on too tight because it will give you a headache. Inside the strap has a grippy feel but I won't know if it stays on while I'm sweating.Another thing I was concerned about is that I couldn't open my phone while it's on the mount. If you position your phone just right you can open the camera app without a problem. I have the iPhone 6 so it's big enough to open the camera app without the mount hindering the swipe of the app. The one problem that I can see is the strap that holds the phone. It's so small that I can't imagine going any bigger than a iPhone 6. Any bigger you'll risk not having the strap securely hold the phone besides the suction cups.Overall, it's a great accesory for anyone looking to take videos on their smartphone hands free. But I will come back and do another review after a few uses.

I do like the idea and that it can hold my phone/camera for any type hands free outdoor stuff. However, I can't get it far enough back to record a bow shot. It will record an indoor dart throw with no problems. I think it would work for kayaking very well. One just has to get used to that heavy feel on the forehead. Maybe they'll make a lighter phone with a fantastic camera. If the phone starts doing some silly thing on its own I can't tell from my angle.

I have used this head mount with my heavy Note 4. It is not steady or secure enough for any action. Just slow walking gives way too much camera shake. HOWEVER, I got it to video my RC Panes that I fly. It works very well for that. Since I am always looking at the plane in flight and basically standing still, it does a good job filming. It helps to have a helper get the camera aimed properly before tightening. I fly electric planes for about 8 minute duration. It's fine for that!

I will just reiterate what some other reviews have stated. The band is GREAT! The phone strap and suction cups are GREAT! The hinge that connects the 2 is mediocre at best... The phone sits to high, in relation to the hinge causing the phone to flop down, sometimes in the face. The hinge, itself is the cheapest made part on the whole product. I had to add a washer to try and get it tight gut then it would wobble on my head.The product advertised itself as a goPro substitute, but with a shakey system the only thing you could film with this, is a walk.

I ordered one of these to use with my iPhone 5, and found it not only well made, but very easy to use. I like that the angle can be adjusted -- I found that I needed to tilt it further down than one might think in order to get a realistic representation of what my real "eye view" was like. The grip is strong, and I have little fear of the phone falling out. On a whim, I also tried mounting my Ion action camera. By just wearing the unit sideways (the Ion is tubular, so needs a side mount), and lashing the camera against the suction cups with the strap, it worked like a charm! Now I have a head mount I can use with either my smart phone or my action camera! How cool is that!

Works as expected however it is so lightweight, my heavy phone which is the Google Pixel 3, is too big for this.It seems like this product is for very small phones like small iPhones

It does work, but you will have to do a few takes to get the camera pointed exactly in the right spot. Wide shots seems to work the best, but when I look down at something, the camera doesn't see what my eyes are seeing. You will definitely have to practice with this to get the camera at exactly the right angle. The other thing is that the plastic which holds the camera pushes into your head so you may need to wear a bandanna to make it more comfortable. I do like that it's adjustable and seems to be well-made.
