Great metronome!
Wonderful metronome. Nice elegant design and function. Definitely loud enough. There are two metronome tones, one clave and one combination clave and beep. The clave and beep is louder but I did not like the tone. The clave sound alone was very pleasing and I found it to be loud enough.

Pretty happy, but has undocumented bug/feature
I'm pretty happy with this metronome, especially its large rotary dial (rather than up/dn buttons) to set tempo like my old fashioned ones used to. The volume is a bit loud for classical piano with the metronome sitting on the music stand, but I taped over the speaker grills to give the volume control a little more useful range on the soft end.When setting the beat to an even number (2, 4, or 6) my preference is that the emphasized tick be aligned with the leftmost LED, so the downbeat occurs as the LEDs launch from their left edge. When I first used the metronome I was disappointed that the alignment was the other way around. I tried playing with it "backwards" like this for fifteen minutes but it never felt right and I switched it off. Later I tried again and was surprised to find the emphasized beat DID align this time. After fiddling around some more, it appears to align randomly each time you cycle the BEAT button around to some number and the ticks/LEDs begin anew. So, if tick/LED alignment matters to you, keep hitting the BEAT button until you get what you want. Since the metronome does not remember beat settings after power off, to avoid this fuss I will sometimes just turn the volume down, rather than the unit off, when pausing just for a little while.

Very Versatile Metronome
What a nice metronome. Great wooden block sound. Loud. You can do "beep on the downbeat, the block sounds. 6/8, 5/4, all is possible with this metronome. AAA batteries. As good as but more versatile than the 50 model, which my son stole from me and now uses everyday. That's been a great tool since the 80s but I think I like the 60 better.
