3/4 Inch x 39 Inch SDS Plus Rotary Hammer Drill Bit, Carbide Tipped for Brick, Stone, Concrete (3/4" x 37" x 39")

I'm a ham radio operator that recently moved to Arizona and I'm re-establishing my station. I needed to sink 12 8' ground rods, and holy hell, I quickly discovered that Arizona soil is far different from where I came from. An sds-plus (I should have bought a SDS-Max) driver with a ground rod driving attachment were no match for what I was running into. So I found the longest 5/8" drill bit I could find on Amazon and purchased it. For the price point it is well made and stood up to drilling 12 pilot holes in the "Arizona Concrete" that makes up my backyard. I still had hell to pay getting the 8' ground rods all the way in, but at least this drill bit gave them a good head start.

Awesome bit. Drills quickly and smoothly using even a standard battery-powered drill (I have a corded heavy-duty drill that would be typical for this type of bit, but the hand drill works very well).

Great product, great price

I have a mountain cabin that was constructed in an unusual way, involving walls that are about 18 inches thick, using a kind of hybrid cinder block material. I have a starlink internet connection. But I have had to prop open a door to get the cable through. So, I needed to drill a hole through a lot of tough stuff, including cinder block. I had managed to get a 1/2 inch hole through, but that wasn't enough to pass the Starlink connector. This drill bit did the trick. You're (obviously) going to want a rotary hammer drill (which I had), but crikey this 1 inch bit got through all that cinder-block type stuff in about 5 minutes. That's pretty freaking impressive. I'm going to need to put a few more holes through the wall, but frankly: this bit will do just fine.

After dilling through 12 floors the bit was still sharp and drilling with no problems. I purchased two thinking it would not last the job but never needed the second.

Worked great for drilling 1/2" hole down through a paver buckwall.

Work for what I bought it for.

This has held up pretty well despite the low cost. A meter of decent steel, a good carbide tip—figure a name brand would cost 5-10X what this cost. If you’re a tradesman who uses this everyday, or you really are drilling through 36” of reinforced concrete, look elsewhere. I was drilling “dumb homeowner” grade concrete without rebar and the bit cut pretty fast.
