Delia's Complete Cookery Course (Vol 1-3) by Delia Smith (1992-03-01)

Brilliant book for 1st time chef to experienced chef. Every recipe tried and tested over decades. Highly recommended

I bought this second hand, pretty cheaply, and feel I had a bargain. The only problem is that there is no index of chapters at the beginning -- though there is a detailed index at the end. This means that I have to look through the book to find the section I want, rather than being able to get a quick page reference. This is annoying and I have had to solve it by using stick-out tabs at the beginning of each section. If I know which recipe I want, I use the index at the back of the book. Otherise, I am very pleased with this book.

There is a very good reason why this book has been around a long time. Although there are countless other recipe and cookery book available, Delia's Cookery Course is the one that anyone who prefers home cooking to prepared or take away food, or who wants to put on something special, should start with. The recipes are clearly written and the ingredients easily obtainable. This is my go to book when planning something different and has never let me down.

I bought this because I hsd bought many years ago a hardbacked cookery book of Delia's which through constant use was physically falling apart and it was a no-brainer to purchase this soft-backed and very comprehrnsive edition of her complete cookery course. Ii was in very good conditiom and I am delighted with it.
