JBL Boost TV Compact Bluetooth Soundbar (Black)

This was perfect for my application. It may or may not be for yours. I was a music major and I am somewhat of an audiophile. My living room set broadcasts it's sound on a high end Bose system. But I needed something in the bedroom to augment the weak sound coming from my 32 inch LED. I wasn't going to pair a $300 TV with a $600 sound system so I pursued an economical solution. This sounder fit the bill. It doesn't sound like my Bose but it shouldn't. There is no subwoofer so sacrifices have to be made to produce decent spectrum sound out of a minimal profile device. I'm impressed. It augments the sound dramatically and doesn't sound too bad. As a bonus, it easily pairs with your smartphone and you can switch back and forth between TV to Bluetooth with the remote. Setup took all of about 5 minutes.

The sound is way better than any new TV. So I have had this sound bar for a year and a half now, and I think it works great. It's compact and perfectly loud enough for the room I use it in. It is definitely not going to give you a theater experience, but it works really good. Some reviews complain about the bass level on this unit, but most tv's have audio settings that you can change to get your preferred sound. You can program this unit to your tv remote. The instructions are a bit vague, but im going to run it down. You have separately program the power, volume up and volume down. 1. Press, and hold the connect button for 5 seconds ( man with arrows on either side of him) its left of the -button. The connect button will flash orange when ready. Next push the power button on the soundbar, once. Now press the power button on the remote you want to use. You will see the connect button flash white one time. Now it will power up and down with your remote. 2. Volume control Press, and hold the connect button for 5 seconds (man with arrows on either side of him) its left of the -button. The connect button will flash orange when ready. Next push the volume up button + on the soundbar, once. Now press the volume up button on your remote. You will see the connect button flash white one time. Now it will turn up with your remote. 3. Volume control down. Press, and hold the connect button for 5 seconds (man with arrows on either side of him) its left of the -button. The connect button will flash orange when ready. Next push the volume down button - on the soundbar, once. Now press the volume down button on your remote. You will see the connect button flash white one time. Now it will turn up with your remote. Thats it, your all done and ready to crank it up to to your favorite show or music. Oh ya it's also a bluetooth speaker so you can connect your phone to it and jam out. Just look for the good deals, I paid about 80 bucks for mine.

This little JBL soundbar is great! It is very powerful and sounds really nice overall for its compact size. Even though you don't get a subwoofer with it like with some other larger soundbars, it has surprisingly good bass. The overall sound quality and loudness level is also quite impressive. If you are looking for a cost effective but high quality soundbar for your TV, this one is highly recommended. I'm very happy with it.

I bought one of these to replace my (still working) 300-watt AV receiver and JBL 2-way bookshelf speakers. It’s more than enough power to fill my living room, and the sound quality is surprisingly high quality, given the size. I was looking for something that was small, that I could sit on a tabletop/shelf under the TV, move around occasionally (it’s also Bluetooth compatible), etc., but not something specifically designed to hang on a wall. Also, many Bluetooth-only speakers are designed primarily to be used on battery only (not AC), lack an optical-in connector, and sometimes lag because of the wireless/Bluetooth signal is slower than a wired connection. Without a doubt, it’s a significant upgrade for the tinny, TV speakers built into modern flat panels. And, it was cheap. The price has even dropped a few dollars since I bought mine.

Like many flat screen TVs, ours has terrible speakers. Music sounds muddy and dialogue can be hard to understand. Our style is modern/minimalist so one of those gigantic racks of audio components plus large floorstanding speakers were out of the question. A sound bar seemed like a good compromise. However, our TV stand is also minimalist, so the standard bars of 30"+ wide would have to sit on the floor and I wasn't too wild about that. We have an extensive Sonos system but between the width of the Sonos Soundbar and the high price, I wasn't too excited to go that route. I was excited to find the Boost and gave it a try. It noticeably improved speech and dramatically improved music. You will probably need to have the JBL learn codes from your existing remote control. This was quite fast and painless for me to do with our setup. I much prefer this over the reverse of having to add another component and set of codes to the multi-remote. The Boost included analog (RCA) cables and an optical cable. Connecting the Boost to our TV via optical was quick and easy. Overall this is a solid product for $200 and I'm quite pleased. Don't let the 4 stars make you think this isn't worth buying -- I simply reserve 5 stars for truly amazing products.

I bought a fairly high-end Vizio TV recently. The picture was excellent but I could tell immediately that the built-in speakers were terrible. Imdid not want to sit a traditional soundbar in front of the TV and my entertainment center only had a small spot for a speaker. This JBL speaker was the perfect solution. The sound quality is far above anything you get from a TV speaker. I really like using it for streaming music from my phone as well. I know it doesn't match a larger soundbar with a subwoofer, but it's been great for my modest needs.
