will this be successful on foot-plate of recliner chair to elevate legs, please? (for 91 year old Mum)

As I have an elderly mother I thought I would do some testing. You can use it in a recliner but it was much easier in an electrical one rather than manual. Only difficulty I see if your mom tries to use the cushion herself is actually putting it under her legs. If you put the cushion under your legs in the seating position and then lift your leg up, this doesn't put the cushion in the right position and she will then have to have the strength and dexterity to lift legs slightly to grab the cushion and pull it towards her. If she is anything like my mom with arthritis in her hands she may find this difficult. The other thing about doing this is the bum will be in the wrong position. I found my hips and back was rotated under and after a while this may get uncomfortable. I needed to do a little shuffle backwards to make sure my bum was right back with support from the seat. The other thing to note is the back of the chair would have to be quite far back as well, as with the cushion under the legs and the back upright position, you are kinda concertinaed so not a comfortable position. So in conclusion when the back is in at least a semi reclined position, her bum is positioned well back in the chair and the cushion is in the right position under the legs it does work and offers relief. The only thing that may be an issue is your mom having the strength / dexterity to position the cushion herself if alone and then when putting the chair back to sitting position being able to kick away or remove the cushion so it doesn't get in the way and become a tripping hazard getting up and out of the chair. If there is always going to be people around, it will work and offer some relief.

Hello, I'm not a medical person, but the pillow helped with my leg. I think you should discuss the problem with a nurse or doctor, but the pillow would probably help in some way.

It does sometimes but not always.  If you're careful when getting your legs up and get the wedge in the correct position,  it really should be fine.
