One of the best pocket sharpeners you can buy
Honestly this is kind of the best you can get for a pocket sharpener. 600 grit isn't idea for ultra fast rough work. If you had a blunt edge and need something to get you to working edge fast, i would want a very coarse 320 grit or even 220 grit. However if you want to keep your edge serviceable this is kind of perfect. 600 grit is fine enough to give you a keen edge, rough enough to do a little profiling if you are desperate. Simple system, nothing really to go wrong, quite durable and easy to pocket or toss in a field bag, so reasonably priced its not heartbreaking if you lose it. You do need to learn to sharpen though, this is totally unguided, but with a little practice and fairly steady hands you should have no issues getting at least a working edge. This sharpener alone is very capable of shaving sharp edges on well heat treated steel. If you are consistent you can easy do light passes alternating sides and break that burr off, negating the need for a strop, but a strop would be a good addition. Ultimately, this is the best one step pocket sharpener I have come across. it can handle most of your sharpening needs. I could be satisfied with this being my only sharpener if it came down to it. I definitely recommend.

Very cool tool
This as a well engineered sharpener. Screws into the protective cover when not in use, so it stays put. It’s just the right size for sharpening my EDC knives and it works like a champ. The oval shaped sharpener makes it easier to maintain a good angle, and in just a few passes my knives are as sharp as the day I got em, if not sharper. I love the portability. Easily fits a tackle box, glove compartment or pocket. I use it often and I don’t see any signs of wear on it.

Great way to keep a good edge
I’ve been using the Kershaw Ultra-Tek Blade Sharpener for a few months now, and I’m really impressed with its performance. The unique design, with the diamond-coated shaft stored inside the handle, is perfect for my deer hunting trips. It’s compact enough to fit in my pocket or day pack, making it super convenient to carry around. The sharpener does an excellent job of keeping my Kershaw knife razor sharp. I found it especially useful for putting the finishing touches on an already good edge. Just remember, it won't replace a good whetstone if your knife gets too dull. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I’d definitely recommend it to other knife enthusiasts.

Makes sharpening easy
I have several sharpening methods, and own two other diamond stone gadgets. This is a very clever system, and frankly had it not been for a respected guide and the Kershaw brand, I'd have been too skeptical to buy this. But I wanted something for remote field work, and my diamonds stones are just too big, so I decided to try it. Wow. It does a brillaint job of sharpening. I've tried on on over a dozen different knives now and they all took an edge with little fuss. Perhaps it's the oval shape of the stone, or mayb it's becuase I'm usded to using a steel, but for whatever reason, I seem to get a respectable edge with out a great deal of discipline in the stone-to-blade angle. Obviously you can'it just ignore the angle, but it's easy to be in the "ok zone". With just a little care, I can get to "scary sharp" and without unpacking the stones, sharpening fluids... So, this is easy, cheap, and excellent. Almost too good to be true, but it is true... for me at least

Great tool
I've had one these for about 12 years, and it's excellent. They get better with use, and my new one is already seeing a good bit of steel. Now I have two!

I like this sharpener.
I really like this sharpener. It works well on my curvy Ken Onion blades, as well as straight blades. I also use it on my kitchen knives to great affect. It's easy to use, the knurled grip doesn't slip. Typically, I can get a nice edge pretty fast. I wouldn't use it on a super dull blade, but for maintenance, this thing is great. I really like the self storing feature and compactness for if I do need to put it in a pack sometime. It feels very solid in both the stowed and open positions. Recommend.

Portable Sharpener with Protective Cover from unwanted sharpening of other things surrounding it by proximity.
This sharpens knives, scissors, anything I want to slice things up with pretty well. Once I'm done sharpening stuff, its easily put away pulling it apart and sliding the sharpening end back into the handle. I've used this a dozen times now and there isn't a dull knife or scissors in the house. Pros: Sharpens blades, hide it easily protective sleeve (cap back into the handle) from ruining your sharpener on things you don't want to sharpen like your phone or keys (ok, maybe you want to sharpen your keys) handle is textured and doesn't just slide in grip. fits both right and left handed people Cons: Doesn't sharpen blades by itself. No matter how much I glare at it. Plastic handle, feels like plastic If anyone is having any trouble with this device, I suggest watching some videos of how to pull a cap off a pen and then replacing that cap on to the end of the pen. It can be tricky but once you figure out how to set up your sharpener you can get to sharpening all your slicing tools. Overall, I loved this product for how easy it is to sharpen stuff and then put back into my pocket or backpack for sharpening more stuff later.

Well made and compact
This is a great product for having a compact, light weigh sharpening hone for my daypack. It works very well for field sharpening on the fly, but does not replace a good sharpening system once you get home. It certainly does what I bought it for.
