Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1980 album including previously unreleased bonus tracks. Robbie Dupree is best known for his 1980 hits "Steal Away" (#6 on the Billboard Hot 100) and "Hot Rod Hearts" (#15). In 1981, he received a Grammy nomination as Best New Artist, losing to Christopher Cross. Robbie Dupree began his music career by singing on the street corners of Brooklyn. His passion for music flourished in the rich, creative atmosphere of the late 1960s. Moving to New York City during these exciting days, Robbie dedicated himself to songwriting and the pursuit of a solo career. By 1970, he was performing on the club scene in Greenwich Village with bandmate, the legendary Nile Rodgers in a group called New World Rising. In 1978, Robbie made the decision to pursue a solo career. He moved to Los Angeles and hooked up with old friends Rick Chudacoff and Peter Bunetta. Together, they produced his first solo recording. Review: A Quality Piece of Work - A great album and introduction to Mr. Dupree's larger career. I found the Spanish language versions especially entertaining! It kind of encapsulates 1980. While Steal Away and Hot Rod Hearts anchor the album, the rest is hardly filler (I especially like I'm No Stranger.) Overall, it's a well made album with a great sound, and the packaging in this edition is of good quality. Buy it, and I can guarantee you'll be hearing "Autos de amor" in your sleep. Review: I love the artist - I love the artist, and the new version sounds as good as anything put out previously, if not better. The vendor mailed the cd very quickly and I certainly would buy from this company again.

Excellent CD
Thank Goodness I have a very rare surname. Like there are only 8 of us in the states! Only my name was on the shipping label, and NO address, but my regular carrier saw my name an delivered. Damn good thing I am not a Smith!

Dupree was a solid entertainer.
A true representative of 70's California FM rock. Good disc to sample his talent.

Great for original remaster.
This CD is a remaster from the original, for my reason the sound quality is good enough. Even if you don't have SHM version (Japanese quality) not so good for CD case, if you get cd in the wrong direction it's easy to get out of the cd case with thick paper. As for the package of CD, I prefer Digipak style over paper cd envelope style that I get.
