I bought it to put my photos on as it was 1 of the cheaper 1s. I have put photos on and they’ve kept. It’s easy to take if you go anywhere and need to transfer photos. I’d get more if this gets full

Fantastic product. A little capacity is used by the system itself but otherwise almost a full 5Tb of storage. Speedy transfer and easy to use.

Good working with MacBook

I have purchased 100's of Seagate drives and never had a failure yet. I mostly purchase 5TB Backup & Backup Plus portable drives, depending which is cheaper at the time. Have purchased all the range from 500GB-5TB so this applies to them also. When the drive is delivered I always do a full drive write with random data test to verify the drive has no defects and no problems, I have yet to have a bad drive I needed to send back. If you take care of the drive it will last. Remember to always eject the drive by selecting 'Safely Remove Drive' before removing from the usb port (or shutdown first). Also place the drive on a solid/stable (no movement) surface before plugging in the usb. The drives should be OK with movement but if you can, best to be careful. I wrote this review as I see alot of negative reviews but I can confirm these drives are safe to use. Always remember no hard drive is 100% safe, always have backups, or copy-then-verify. Duplication is your friend.

After buying 5 small USB drives that were supposed to be 1 Terabyte (they were scams), I decided to go with a brand name I could trust. There are about 5 brands that I know and trust. but I wanted a small hand size that would fit in my pocket or purse and I love almost any color other than black, silver, red or yellow, so the blue caught my eye real fast! After literally hours wasted trying to copy 800 GB to those scammed drives, it was pure pleasure to actually have it accomplished in less than an hour! Back to a quality drive and it was only 30$ more for this 2 T drive . . . that's a lot of money for an old rug rat like me, but the data backups will save me a lot of time. I will buy at least one more but sure wish they had a lt pink or purple one to accompany the lt blue . . . but white is always preferred over the black. Black use to be an elegant color, now it's just plain depressing because EVERTTHING is black and extremely hard to see in small devices. And just have to mention, a bright green is so refreshing to see.
