OREI 2x2 HDMI Matrix Switch 4K@60Hz with Audio Extraction, IR Remote, EDID

This HDMI matrix switch is a great solution if you need to route multiple HDMI sources to several displays. With four inputs and four outputs, it allows you to send any connected source to any display, which makes it very flexible for different setups. The switch supports 4K at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma, and the picture quality remained clear and stable during use. I bought this unit to be able to switch output from a Roku Stick and a PS4 to a television set and a set of Rokid Max AR glasses. The output works perfectly on the television set, however for some reason, the glasses are not working with whatever signal this unit is putting out. The glasses work correctly if the output from either the Roku Stick or the PS4 are connected directly to the glasses, but not the output of this unit. I have tried switching the cables around in all possible configurations to make sure that the cables and unit connections all work correctly, which they do. It's unfortunate because this seems to be a high quality piece of equipment. The case is metal with high quality markings, the LED's are nice and bright, and the remote functions perfectly. I have tried to contact tech support, but so far, have been unsuccessful. I gave the unit three stars because I feel that is a neutral score. If the issue can be resolved, I will gladly give the unit five stars. UPDATE: The seller saw my review and reached out to me to discuss my issues with their product. After some investigation, they determined that their unit is not compatible with the Rokid Max AR glasses that I was trying to use it with. As a result, the asked me to return the unit and they will give me a full refund. They even sent a shipping label so that I would not have to pay the return shipping. I am increasing my review to five stars because it is a nice, well made unit with a lot of features, and it worked flawlessly with my TV set, just not with the glasses.

Worked well with my fairly complicated setup using a mixture of new AV equipment and some ancient stuff: Apple TV 4K 2nd generation, Epson QB1000, and Integra DTR 9.9 for sound. I'm able to view 4K HDR10+ from the Apple TV, and 4K HDR10 from a Nintendo Switch 2. Also using an OREI 4K extender to get 4K HDR10+ video over Cat5e. Audio extraction over Optical to the Integra provides 5.1. Everything controllable via HDMI CEC with the Apple Siri remote. Impressive...

I have a pretty niche use case for this, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a product that did what I was looking for, and at such a reasonable price point. I have an AppleTV and a Roku that I want to flip back and for between two different TVs in various combinations. On one of the TVs I need to extract the audio to run it into a receiver, which this unit also lets me do. I had no idea a product like this existed, and it is almost perfect for my need. Reasons not 5 stars: - The remote is important for my use. It works, but it is flimsy and the buttons don't always respond well. - Not sure if it is an Orei issue or the nature of the technology, but sometimes I want one TV off. But no matter how I set it, it seems some sort of signal "leaks" through the switch that causes the TV to turn itself on. A minor issue, but annoying. But definitely would recommend.

The concept seemed straightforward. The manual was a bit intimidating. In fact, it was almost plug and play. We had 2 inputs to start with and 4 outputs. 2 were on HDMI Cat 5 extenders, one was just HDMI and one output was a wireless HDMI extender. We also used the audio splitter for our main input channel and linked it to the mixer for our church. All worked beautifully. Hint: for video routing, follow the simple but important instruction—push the output channel FIRST, then push the input source you want to route from. A couple of reviews complained about all the output resolutions having to be at the lowest setting common to all. I found that not to be true. The resolution can be selected then “copied “ to an individual output channel. Bottom line, it’s pretty easy to use. I spent about an hour unboxing, reviewing the manual, hooking up connections and had it up and running very well. And I don’t have a lot of experience….

Device works great and does what it says. Unfortunately I’ve purchased 2 and the input ports start going bad at about 2yrs. The 2nd one, input only works on one port now. This happened with the first.

Purchased for our church in order to display song slides from our computer to 3 outputs: TV, projector, and a live streaming encoder (ATEM Mini). Pretty simple set up. About as plug and play as you can get. And after a couple afternoons testing it and one Sunday service, I have not had any issues with it and does what I hoped it would do. Our projector screen is 4:3, so I have to resize our computer desktop to 1280x960 so it all fits on the screen. I was concerned the matrix might get screwed up by that, but it appears to work fine. Build quality seems pretty good. My only complaint is that the remote does not appear to work, but that's fine as I don't really need it. Also, two thumbs up for customer service. When I first set the matrix up, it was not mirroring the computer and would only display when I started a slideshow with PowerPoint. I emailed OREI customer service and within a day they had gotten back to me. I had forgotten to ensure that my computer was mirroring. It had auto-selected to extend the display. I selected mirror and everything showed up as it should. Also, there appear to be many videos from OREI on YouTube to assist as well info on their website. Pretty happy so far for a piece of equipment just over $100.

This is a nice little unit. However if you want to use it with Verizon Fios One and have 4K and 1080p tv/monitors -on/hooked up at the same time, the Verizon Fios One box will default to the lowest resolution of what is hooked up. If you only have 4K hooked up, Verizon will broadcast in 4K, and the matrix switch will deliver a 4K picture to all 4K tv/monitors. I spoke with Verizon Technical support and they will not allow you to over ride the Fios One box and have it set to constant 4K output. The downscaler function on this unit is useless with Verizon Fios One. You can not have mixed tv definitions delivered. If the manufacturer of the matrix device would dedicate one hdmi input to 4K and one output to 4K and have that input relay back to the source everything is in 4K, the Fios One Box would stay in 4K mode. Then the device would have to stop all two way communication on the other 3 hdmi outputs to mixed resolution monitors. The downscaler would then be applicable. Verizon Fios One is very limited as to what third party devices can be used with TV or internet. We can no longer use our more powerful wifi router because it would disable features of the new Verizon system.

Good product.Easy connectivity but unable to control the volume of the sound bar after connecting it to optical out,other than that it works pretty good.

I use it for a document camera and a computer input and 2 projectors for outputs. This switch had improved how I teach in class. A benefit to the students.

I spent many hours looking for a suitable matrix splitter for my home theatre system. The difficult part was the need for a Fire TV stick to feed a 4k HDR projector without loss of quality, whilst simultaneously sending 7.1 to my older tech super high-end AV processor (Classe) that only understands 1080p, and no Atmos. And the need to receive a second input from a Panasonic premium Blu Ray player with the same function. Plus send video to a second small low res TV when I don't want to use the projector. It did take many trial and error experiments to find the right dip switch setting, the right remote control setup of each output in conjunction with the right Amazon Fire TV settings. It would've been nice to include a IR extender to be able to place the device out of view like similar priced units. Being in a dedicated home theatre, all the front LED lights become a distraction when you darken the room
