This stuff is wicked awesome!
This stuff is wicked awesome! It really works! However keep in mind that it is not completely clear and will leave a slight frost finish on anything its applied to, this is likely why most all of the video demonstrations for it on YouTube are on white cloth. I used it to spray a pair of Sperry Top Siders and a Small Camera case. The Top Siders came out amazing, Once painted you cannot tell that it was applied until I dump water all over them. They are made out of a tan canvas-like material, I sprayed the canva, rubber, and the laces. After they dried from both applications completely unnoticeable. The Camera case on the other hand was a different story. This was mad out of a neoprene-like material and was black in color. The short version is that it completely ruined the case. It discolored the case gray leaving a purple tinge and messed up the zipper. In retrospect I could have prepped this a bit better by masking off some areas but I thought that might defeat the purpose. To get the case back to black i tried spray painting it but epic fail. Painting over the top coat of Never Wet turned most of the paint into powder. I had to re-apply the base coat then while wet, spray the flat black, let dry then spray the top coat. Some things are not meant to be Never Wetted. See Good Mythical Mornings Never Wet Video on YouTube for what does and doesn't work.

Unlike anything else I've tried
I tested Rust Oleum's Never Wet and seven other artist's fixatifs, laquer, and solvent-based clear finishes on water-media artwork. Most of the finishes worked, but Never Wet excelled in two areas. First was its water shedding ability. Water rolls right off or beads up. Second is that it was one of the clearest finishes I tried. Even four of the five brands of artist's fixatif I tested created a very faint white tint to the paper, but I didn't see that with Never Wet. Never Wet takes some care for application though. Soaking your surface with can two is a no-no, as is spraying another coat before the first has dried, or working when the surface is cold. Those can result in hazing of the final finish. Most of the haze evaporated in my test, but it made me more careful with applications. I laid a wet paper towel over my test pieces for 30 minutes, then dragged a sharp spoon over the surface to see if the materials that I'd glued on with water soluble glue would detatch. They held solid. Neat product.

Good product
I'm going to assume that if this product was used, it would have been great!? Unfortunately, it was damaged before that could happen. Not, having used the same product before, I know for a fact that it works. But, I cannot attest to the seller or Amazon's part. I do know it came in the exact same packaging and was legit. No problems.

Fun product, works as advertised until rubbed off
I purchased NeverWet just for fun to see how it worked. I tested it on cardboard, clothes, and a hat. It worked as advertised. Superhydrophobicity is very fun. When water was poured on the treated surface it danced on top of the material and shed very quickly. Everyone who saw it was very impressed. Only two down sides are that the coating rubs off of cloth surfaces relatively easily (if you grab your hat in the same spot when you take it off your head that spot will have less and less of the coating). The other is that there is a white or light grey residue from the coating. So if you put the coating on a black surface it will look like you have put a light frosting (like Christmas window frosting) on the cloth. Would probably be transparent on white or light colored surfaces (probably why all of the videos and examples from the company are on white surfaced or light surfaced objects). Overall fun product. If you have a surface that doesn't get rubbed and want to keep water out I'm sure it works well.

Ineffective in the extreme, at least for my use
I found the prospect of nano-technology paint intriguing, and researched this product including looking at videos of it in use. If the videos are to be believe, this is a miraculous product that repels water in an almost magical way. My application was inside my shower stall, where I wanted to use the product to prevent the accumulation of water and its subsequent migration onto my bathroom floor. The theory was that the water would run down the shower doors, hit the treated sill, and roll away as in the video. This product was completely useless for this process. First I should mention that the application process is pretty painful. Two different products and two coats of the sealer. Wait time between the coats. Then a twelve hour cure period. It's certainly not easy. Fumes (as stated) are extremely intense and I would say almost characterize the product as unusable in an interior application. Luckily I have a large window in the bathroom and could evacuate the fumes. At the conclusion I found: a) most of the treated surface seemed to have no effect whatsoever; b) some of the surface showed a mild beading up of water; c) no miraculous repulsive powers as implied in the video; d) water lay in the same place and same quantity, but in droplets; e) the product became completely overwhelmed as the water built up; and finally the sill looked exactly the same as it had before. Given the imprecision of the directions ("apply but do not flood" whatever that means), it is possible that I might not have done the application correctly, but I am pretty meticulous about stuff and I followed the directions as best as I could. This product might work for other applications; don't know. But if you want to treat a marble sill between your shower and bathroom floor, skip it.

Works on a scuba, drysuit!!!
I am a great lakes Scuba diver. Diving Lake Michigan this early in the season is extremely cold, and I use a dry suit. Unfortunately for me my suit has developed some leaks I have been unable to find and patch, So I used NeverWet to coat the inside and outside of my suit along with my undergarments, which are like a fleece snowsuit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that while the suit still leaked, because the undergarment was coated I didn't get wet and still stayed warm and dry. The two part mix works well! It makes what it is coated just a little bit stiffer, and has a milky haze to it when dried. But if it can keep me dry at the bottom of the lake, it will work great on shoes, boots camper canvas and anything that the milky haze isn't a problem for.

Works Great So Far
The wet kitty litter in our cat box is best described as sticky concrete. I replaced an older, battle-scarred box with a new, shiny one, hoping the litter/concrete which stuck to the old box like it was epoxied to it would not be a problem with a slick surface. A nice idea but after only a few weeks, of cat scratching, the problem was as bad as ever. I had to use a putty knife to get most of the adhering wet litter off the box wall but then I had to clean the sticky stuff off the putty knife. After reading the reviews, I thought I would give this a try. It has been less than a week but so far, the results have been marvelous. Just pick up the box, pour the litter into the strainer I use to get clumps out and voila - nothing sticks to the box. It looks like there are several more applications available in the 2 cans so, if the old problem returns, I can re-apply.

Excellent functionality of NEVERWET in research applications
I am a phd student working in applied physics. I was in need of a superhydrophobic layer in one of my experiments. Through the google search i came across this product. I have applied it on plastic, metal and glass surfaces and it worked more than my expectation. I would like to suggest this product for all the costumers who are in need of a water repellent surface. Use with caution
Ya it is amazing but be careful if you spray it on light plastic it will crack it. We used it on trail cameras but it cracked the motion sensor lens.
