Perfect fit, vibration free, fits like an OEM adapter on my Nikon Microscope
The very best adapter. Most iPhone adapters look and fit like contraptions; they have multiple clips, clamps or adjustment screws and have to be fiddled with to get them in semi-perfect alignment. Once attached, you have to be careful not to bump them. The LabCam manufactured by iDu Optics is specific to my iPhone. It fits as well as any dedicated iPhone case, there is no wiggle or play and the phone can't fall out. Because the adapter has its own 10x eyepiece with a barrel, it replaces the existing microscope eyepiece. The LabCam adapter slips into place in the perfect position; no adjustment was needed. I have a Nikon Alphaphot YS2 with a compound head so the adapter swings into place and rests on the second eyepiece in the landscape orientation. The build quality on the adapter is as good as anything Apple makes and the iPhone adapter fits so well and looks so good in place you would think it was manufactured by Nikon.I was expecting there would be some fine adjustment, but none is needed. Because the fit is perfect the iPhone's autofocus works perfectly as does the color and white balance. Like they claim on their website I was able to take my first photo in less than a minute after unboxing. The LabCam adapter is as sharp and clear as the original Nikon eyepiece, and with the addition of the iPhone, my 1980s Nikon can now do things a modern $3,500 microscope can't. Pinch zoom in and out, capture video, text an image, store to the cloud. And because it is rock-steady when mounted, I can screen share without the risk of the iPhone falling off in the middle of a call.
