Oranges delivered were navelina from Spain, exactly what I hoped for as they are the best at this time of year (early January). They were fantastic - juicy, sweet balanced with deep aromatic flavour, just what I would hope for from a seasonal variety of navel orange at this time of year.There are a number of negative reviews, but some are for times of year like summer when navels are not in season. I’d say Dec-Feb is best, navelina being an early variety. You can’t expect large oranges to be good in UK out of season. Others show a misunderstanding of what a navel orange is: of course it should have thick skin, and it should not have the child-friendly sweetness of a clementines - if you want that, buy clementines! But if you want a beautiful fruit in season in the UK in winter, this is it. It’s just a shame Amazon doesn’t specify the variety and origin, as if it’s not navel (or a variety of navel) from Spain, it will probably only be good for juicing or marmalade. But the supermarkets are generally pretty bad on this sort of thing. I suppose they’d say customers expect everything in season all year, so they have to stock large oranges all year and source the best they can. But that’s not how Mother Nature works.

Perfectly fine.
Not the sweetest of oranges.I actually bought them for the zest for the Christmas cake.I'm not sure if they're waxed? So I gave them a good scrub.They are a good size, so good for zesting.I obviously ate the orange afterwards. It was fine.I'm more used to clementines, which I find to be much sweeter.These oranges do make a good juice, which I quite like having a slight acidity, and they are a good size, so perfect for grating the zest off for baking, but I don't think I would buy them just to peel and eat.I hope you found this review helpful.
