I was able to update the firmware on my TM-D710GA and the head unit, but I couldn't get it to read or write any data on the radio. I did try CHIRP and the official Kenwood program and I did try multiple drivers, but I still couldn't get it to work. I'll probably try my desktop computer before I try to return it.

Worked just fine on my kenwood tmv71a through chirp.

This cable may work for some other radios, but it does NOT work for my Kenwood TM-V71A radios. If this cable requires special drivers, then they should have been delivered with this cable. Nothing in the advertising stated that special drivers were required. The cables were tried with radios that are based on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. None of the computers would work with this cable to program my Kenwood radio.

CHIRP is find of a pain to use with the Kenwood since it does live updates, but the cable connected right away.

Worked as advertised. For my computer I had to download drives, but into the tables I had no issues.

cable works as described. It worked with Chrip and with Kenwoods program also...

Tried multiple OS, installing new FTDI drivers and multiple configs. Bought an RT Systems cable and it worked right off the bat. Sending this back as defective or not compatible with Kenwood DM-710A (attached to head).

and if i can download channels from the radio using Chirp software, i cannot to upload (message not connected).. so, i not recommend it.. also the din connector is very fragile.. this cable it's over priced and badly done..
