Awesome.
Used this to supplement my schools neuroscience book. This is much better and is not boring. The large illustrations were awesome. I can understand why it’s the most popular textbook in the field for undergrad.

Re-wrote a lot of my notes
Great book with up to date information. I did not care for how the information was organized as I would begin to write down a note only to find that the author wasn’t necessarily about to tell you the information you needed, but would have begun a prelude to the information you actually needed or would be the opposite fact. (If that makes any sense). I found myself erasing my notes and starting over a lot.

Enjoyable To Look At
It's a great place to start, but they don't get much into plasticity. It's written from a Localization view.

no way to view original page numbers
The textbook is very well written and extremely interesting. However, the kindle application on mac does not allow you to view the original page numbers. As a result, when your professor says to read SPECIFIC PAGES it is a pain in the ASS to find them. Not worth the 90+ dollars. Overpriced and untailored to students. If you are going to buy this, buy a used physical copy. Save yourself the headache.

Amazing opportunity, they mention the condition of the book was "Good", tbh it was great, it looks like new. I'm very grateful as I got an amazing price for it.

This is the leading undergraduate text. Kandel's massive , Principles of Neural Science, is probably the top graduate book. It is like other undergraduate texts; glossy paper, colours galore and lots of boxes. It is fundamentally cognitive neuroscience with emphasis of senses. The chapters on vision, hearing and touch are long. The chapter on vision is hard to read. Future editions might benefit from a professional science writer and simpler subject-predicate sentences. In content is presents neuroscience, at its level, from one end to the other. Very comprehensive! It can be quite discursive. For those of us learning on our own, it is self-contained. As an university text, it is very heavy on nomenclature. The authors at one point note the plentiful Greek and Latin content. It does make it hard to read especially in the later chapters. Some of it is tedious with huge amounts of terminology. The writing does not flow. It is meant as a course book, but I am reading it on my own ant a quicker pace than students would and I do not have lectures, assistants and classmates to help. I do find Kandel et al easier reading with more biology and Squire et al also easier reading, but this book is more up to date.
