It's been about 3 weeks and so far my one trouble spot vein behind my knee is less painful. Still bulging out but not as much as usual. So it works not as well as I'd hoped but the achy pain is gone most of the day as long as I take it every 12 hours and avoid too much salt. I'd say it's worth it.

I'm a 36 year old woman who has almost always had a job where I'm on my feet all day (restaurants, then teaching). By the time I hit my late 20s I noticed that the veins in my legs were extremely noticeable. Once I hit my 30s the veins had started to "pop" out, especially along my lower legs. Last year I developed a painful knot in one of the veins (superficial thrombophlebitis). I started wearing compression socks, which helped with the aching in my legs & some of the vein swelling, but the knot just got bigger. I tried anti-inflammatory creams and hemorrhoid creams for several months each, but neither of those helped. Googling for treatment of varicose veins led me to horse chestnut extract, so I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out it works. It took about a month for the clot to start shrinking and about three months for it to disappear entirely. There is still a large (quarter size) bruise in that spot that doesn't appear to be going away, but the painful knot is gone. Since I have started taking this I have also had a LOT less pain in my lower legs. The varicose veins are still there and still noticeable, but they are much less pronounced. The DOWNSIDE to these pills is the extreme nausea. The first time I took it was in the evening with dinner, and I then spent the rest of the evening throwing up. The nausea has gotten a little better with time (no vomiting), but I still get queasy every time I take one of these. I think the directions are for two pills a day, but I've found that I just can't function if I take one in the morning. So I take one pill each day right before bedtime. I've found that if I take it before bed I sleep through the worst of the nausea, and because these pills ARE helping, the little bit of queasiness I feel before I fall asleep is worth it. **Please note** - This is NOT medical advice. Help alleviate pain and swelling.

I ordered this item on the recommendation of a friend and reading articles about severe leg cramps. I ordered it and took it faithfully for a month at first no change in the leg cramps that kept me up nights and afterward made my entire legs hurt due to the severity of the cramps not just in calf but in arch of foot behind the knee and above the back of the knee terrible. Doctors have tried for years to help me with these cramps. the only thing that did help was quinine sulfate prescription only but has been taken off the market due to its effect on the heart and circulation. anyway i've tried every thing from drinking cider vinegar, taking mega dozes of potassium and drinking lots more water, you name it i tried it. but these did help after about a month now i take them about 3 times a week .. I still get a cramp once in a while maybe two nights in a row and they are still bad but it used to be 4-5 nights a week now its less than 3 nights a month so these have helped. I recommend them they helped me and I had about given up trying and trying to deal with the cramps that left me so tired so much of the time. hey if it helped me maybe it will help you too.

This horse chestnut supplement is really good stuff. I've been taking it for a few months, and after not much more than the first month my condition started noticeably improving. In 2018 I was diagnosed by Dr. Fontenot in Texas City with Peripheral Vascular Disease, as it applies to weak veins in my ankles. Besides the hair falling out and my legs getting swollen my lower legs became discolored. The good doctor suggested using lanolin ointment to lessen the discoloration. I used it for a little while,but didn't see any improvement. That stuff is also greasy and uncomfortable. But I've been big on nutritional supplementation for most of my life, and it's been easy to incorporate these along with my other supplements. They're also small and easy to swallow. I take one capsule every twelve hours. The discoloration is slowly diminishing. Little by little I'm noticing more and more of it vanishing. [Ofcourse prayer helps too, to whatever deity you're comfortable with.] I don't know how long it's going to take to disappear completely, but with continued improvement like I'll continue taking this supplement as long as it takes. No doubt it's strengthening my veins, so even after the discoloration goes away I'll continue taking them. My legs are taking longer to get swollen now too, so I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if the hair eventually grows back on my legs as well.
