Talking Watch

My Father is blind & has tried several talking watches. He also wears hearing aids & feels this watch works best for him for 2 reasons - he can hear it best as well as understand it best. The volume level & sound clarity is very good.

I bought this watch for my 89-year-old father because the digital watch he had was difficult for him to see & difficult for me to change the time on when switching between Standard Time & Daylight Saving Time. He has told me many times that he loves this watch! It is easy for him to see, plus it announces the time audibly when he pushes the appropriate button. It also never has to be reset. It looks nice, too.

First watch the clock part worked perfectly but the band broke the very first day. I figured I owed them a second chance and ordered another to replace the one with the broken band.Second watch came in a few days and I sent back the first watch. The second watch wouldn't set its self even after we let it sit for over 24hours and was off by a hour. I tried to follow the directions to manually set the watch and failed. This was bought for my 87yr old father for Fathers Day his eye site is failing and needs this type of watch. I am returning it and I am going to try a different watch for him.

Generally, this is a good product. Two issues, however: 1) the voice for the “talking” feature is somewhat low volume and cannot be turned up; and 2) once the battery dies, it’s easier to just buy a new watch. I took my mother’s old talking watch to an experienced jeweler to replace the battery and he commented about how difficult it was to change the battery and how one wrong move could damage the watch beyond cost-effective repair.

My mother has low vision and is hard of hearing. The only way she knows the day or the time is through this watch. It is great.

The instructions are hard to follow. They were notably not written by an American. I finally managed to get it set by using my knowledge of my sons previous watches. It is working okay right now. I am overall not impressed with the watch. My son is disabled and has to have this kind of watch but he wanted a different different kind this time. When the batteries go dead, the jeweler has to special order the batteries. By the time he is finished, since it is very hard to put them in, it is just as cheap to order a new one, although, this new watch was a lot more expensive than the ones I usually buy him. We will see!!!

My ninety year old father loves talking watches. He has significant vision and hearing loss and the watch helps him be more independent. However, either they are fragile or he is really hard on watches.......this is his third watch. To be fair, he is probably really hard on the watches....ha, ha. Still a great and wonderful watch and I'll keep buying them for him!!

When I first received the watch, the wrist band was very tight, but after wearing it for one day , it is now confortable, and I love it.

Audio quality quite poor. The playback was poor quality fuzzy and no volume control. The voice used in the playback was accented and aggravated the problem of being able to understand what was being said. Really disappointing.
