Great Scanner, But...
This is a great scanner for music. It's a God send for me trying to digitize my music library for use in my iPad. The speed and editing capabilities are awesome. Once in a while the software freezes, or acts up, but 95% of the time it's fine, like any tech. Highly recommended for gigging musician.

Useful item to help convert books to word doc and pdf.
Works well. Fast scanning and software dose a good job at cleaning up the scaned text. Not the best for photos but that is not why I purchased this item.

Book Scanner Has Good Hardware but Software Not Intuitive & Needs Improvement
This scanner comes in multiple pieces, and even though it is supposed to be "portable," there is no bag to carry all those pieces! It comes with one instruction booklet, and one small foldable flyer and both of them do not have the complete instructions integrated into one place. They do have some instruction videos on their website. In order to install and activate the software, you need the serial number from the bottom of the scanner. It is supposed to have software with artificial intelligence to flatten the curved pages in a book; it does not work that well in practice. Some pages are still curved, and the text is distorted. The scanning of the middle part of the pages is sometimes missed. The settings are not very customizable, and it is difficult to do one-touch scanning. The software is not very intuitive to use. The auto-cropping is not perfect but works acceptably well. Once scanned, the item does not automatically disappear, you have to save it and then manually delete it from the workplace.Although default file scanning mode is JPG, you can export the scanned pages in a variety of file formats, including PDF, searchable PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and TIFF.The bottom line is where it works for both scanning, but the software needs a lot of improvement.

Most disappointing product of 2020...
And the award for the most disappointing product of 2020 goes too, *drum roll*, the CZUR Aura X-P Portable Document Scanner & Travel-Friendly Book Scanner with Built-in Battery. And what a tease, the packaging and presentation of this product is among the best I have seen. Everything is luxurious and appealing. The boxes are beautiful and easily labeled. This product makes a great first impression, I loved it. Beautiful. But that's where the fun stopped and never recovered. At every single point from here forward my experience was negative. Here's the summary:- Instruction book was inadequate. It doesn't even mention major pieces and how to assemble them. The side light, for example. Even after I figured out assembly on my own, it didn't appear to work. The power button did nothing, nothing ever lit up.- The film that protect the surface from being scratched was a pain to remove. There is a little tab to get it started, but that just immediately ripped off. I had to pick at the corners with my fingernails and scrape all the plastic off. It took awhile, and ironically, scratched the product.- The driver and software webpage was too simple. There was not enough information to know which software to download. My product is only listed as "Aura" everywhere the package and included literature. Yet the webpage forces me to choose between an Aura Series, Aura Pro, Aura X Pro, etc. There was no simple "Aura". Not good.- And for the grand finale - the product was never recognized by any computer I tried to test this on. Windows 10, latest updates, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, various ports, tried different laptops. Nothing. Wasted hours trying to figure this out.- The troubleshooting video on the official website wouldn't play, gave me a video error message.- The software is strange anyway. It's from Hong Kong and doesn't use the standard Windows 10 GUI API. Instead, it hijacks the entire screen. Full screen covering everything else is the only mode this software will run in. I didn't like having to give this software permissions. It was also almost 600MB, single exe file. When launched, I can see a flurry of several Windows console windows appearing and disappearing.- The included instruction suggest turning off all anti-virus and firewall protections so that the device can be detected. So I'm done with this. I'll box it up and dispose of it in an appropriate way. Very disappointed. My advice - don't even think about it.

Not User Friendly
Sorry, I gave up on my second attempt to download the software. Who sends a CD-Rom anymore, 1995 has called and they want their technology back. This is jut dumb. So frustrating. I'm an academic scholar who travels from time to time and thought this might actually be useful. It's actually quite big and would take up quite a bit of room in your suitcase. But more frustrating than that is the inability to get the software to download correctly. You have to go to their website and find the product. Then download it. Supposedly you can also use a qr code to use with your phone, but I couldn't find the code. Expensive desk lamp.

Good but software needs work
Scanner is pretty good. The software can be irksome, and the scanner will not work with other software.
