Review: Not a tough case but it is well designed and waterproof! - Very happy with this case so far. I do wish the otterbox company would offer something like the armor again but this will work well enough. Camera lense cover seems like glass. Camera flash cover is a rubbery membrane as if the cover over the home button. The cover over the screen and the cover over the apple logo are both clear plastic. I don't have any issue with an air bubble on the screen area like older models had. The sound seems good. The charge port is easy enough to get to ( just a flip down door that snaps to close). Silence power and volume buttons work with out any trouble. The silence is a toggle switch type function. The case has bumpers above and below the volume silence button to reduce wear and help prevent hitting the buttons accidentally. The back of the case has a light texture so it doesn't get slippery to hold onto. The front of the case has a rubbery edging around the face that also helps keep a grip. It still fits in my pocket. Review: I've had lifeproof since the iPhone 4 - I have had the Lifeproof case since I first purchased my iPhone 4. It's kept my phones in MINT condition. I upgraded to the iPhone 6 in 2014 when it first came out and I still have this phone. There is not a single scratch on it. I've taken my phone in the ocean (submerged), in pools (submerged), at lakes, 4-wheeling. It's been thrown in the toilet and the dirt by my 1 year old multiple times. My phone is still perfect since the day I bought it. I, personally, don't notice a difference (if there even is one) with the sound quality. The headphone jack adapter is kind of annoying but it's not a big deal for me. The camera holes do get dirty, I clean them out with a Qtip. I did have one case that the inside lining kept falling out of place (the rectangle stringy thing that seals the phone). I've used Lifeproof's warranty maybe 2 times, and they've sent me a new one. First, the silent/ring button broke off, I sent in a picture of what I was talking about and they shipped me a new case. Second time, the plastic part that covers the camera I noticed was ripped. Sending me a new one as I'm writing this. I would recommend this to anyone. I've bought cases for my husband and my family.

I've had lifeproof since the iPhone 4

Love my FRE lifeproof case!
I love lifeproof and will never have anything else. I never have to worry about it getting wet, getting filthy, or even dropping it - which I must admit happens often. Honestly, every time I drop my phone I say "...aaaand THAT'S why I have a lifeproof...." I am certain that if I didn't have a lifeproof case on my phone that it would have shattered a long time ago. Also, this color is amazing. I get compliments on it frequently. Side note: if you've never tried lifeproof products before and are looking around then I definitely would advise you not to try the NUUD cases from lifeproof. I have tried to buy them twice within the last few years and it is really difficult to take phone calls. I was able to hear someone speaking fairly well but people said they could not hear me talking at all and I sounded very far away. I was even shouting and it didnt seemed to help. It was extremely frustrating. I returned them immediately and purchased the ever-faithful FRE phone case. The FRE cases always give me very clear calls and my phone feels very protected. I have never had a problem with the FRE lifeproof cases. It's definitely a great buy (in whatever color) if this is going to be your first purchase from the company. You won't regret it.

Great tough case a few drawbacks.
I am a bit mixed about this product. First I would say it is the best waterproof case you can buy. That said, the downside, it muffles/reduces the sound a lot. My guess would be 40%. This is an issue with a lot of text alerts from a work app--in high noise situations or outside I sometimes don't hear it. Music does not sound so great. And you need to speak up a bit or people may have trouble hearing you. And the reality of a lens covering the camera lens and flash did reduce the quality of the photos a bit. After 14 months of use, the case is worn down. The rubber or soft plastic is almost gone on the outter edge. I have taken this to amusement parks (you know the big ones in Florida). Hiking, lots of beaches, coaching both baseball and softball with gamechanger. This phone has hit the dirt, the floor, the sand many times. My sense after year it probably was no longer watertight. I was right. It popped out of my pocket and hit the water (about 6 inches deep). I saw water had penetrated. I opened it up dried it off. Some water had got into the earphone plug so no sound. I was able to dry the port out and the phone resumed sound in a few hours. iPhone was saved.

Used for underwater photos and videos (snorkeling)
I bought it for doing pictures and videos with my iPhone 6 while snorkeling on vacation. I performed the 30 minute test in the sink putting some dishes on top to keep at the bottom and it went fine. I could keep it casually in my shorts' pocket while walking waist deep in water and feel safe against theft concerns at the beach. Does as advertised, but I wish there was a small compartment for storing my ID and some cash though. Very happy, will use it for skiing as well. TIPS FOR SNORKELING: It handles seawater without issues. Just like without it, touching the screen when underwater does no reaction, my advice is to "prepare" the iPhone by launching the Camera app first above water, and then only go underwater, whereafter the volume buttons do the actual photo shots. Switching from/to video mode easily must be done above water and requires more preparation because tapping on screen while wet is fine but swiping for unlock is almost impossible, so this is what I did: 1. remove my code for unlock 2. Go to AssistiveTouch settings 3. add a new gesture which swipes right and call it "Swipe" 4. Add it in the AssistiveTouch menu 5. Enable AssistiveTouch Then, to easily access my phone while in water, I go to the surface, wait for water to drool away (shake if necessary), and press the AssistiveTouch button, select my "Swipe" gesture, which shows a dark circle, tap that and it unlocks. Then I tap my Camera app and tap the "VIDEO" word to switch mode (no need to actually swipe). Then again go underwater because the volume buttons start/stop the videos.

Case Protected Phone Through Washing Machine
I never write reviews, but when people ask if I like my case, and I tell my story, people always tell me I should. Now I am purchasing a replacement after my case broke, and I thought I finally would. This case kept my phone safe and dry through the washing machine after I stupidly swept it into the laundry with my sheets. After 30 minutes or so it hit me, and I ripped the machine rid open. There in the bottom of the machine was my happy little dry phone. I replaced the case for good measure, but have always trusted them. That replacement case unfortunately seems to have a defect, and the charger port cover did break off after just a few months, so I am disappointed to be replacing the case so soon. But I live at the beach, sail, paddle board, play volleyball, take my dogs to the bay, and don't have to think about whether or not to take my phone. Yes, the call quality is bad. But I'd rather shell out the bucks to replace the case than the phone, and for me, the phone calls are not a deal breaker. (I won't be making any calls if my phone is water logged). I converted my mom to a lifeproof case when she got her first iphone this year, and she hated the call quality. Until she'd dropped her brand new iphone into the sink, and onto the tile a few times. Now she doesn't say a word about it other than to suggest my dad get one too. His phone is currently shattered. Ours are not. Coincidence?

A big comeback after a major fail
I wrote a 1 star review on the first version of the Lifeproof iphone 6 case. It had several problems, and I was incredibly disappointed with it. Upon reading more recent reviews, and about changes made in this later version, I decided to give Lifeproof another chance. I've only just received the case today, and I'll be sure to update if it goes downhill, but so far I am much happier with the case this time. The mute switch is still working, the charging port is bigger, so I can use more chargers. It's no longer domed on the back. I'd been told something about the dome being for sound quality, and it never really bothered me, but it's a plus for me that it's gone. The only con that I have is that the charging port cover is significantly more difficult to pop open for me. I'm not sure I could do it without damaging the case if I didn't have long enough nails.

Waterproof feature with some compromises!
I was a very big fan of Lifeproof knowing how amazing (slim) it looks and amazing protection it provides. What I didn't like about this product: 1) it reduces the call clarity (in the sense you can't hear enough) which I think because of the built in screen protector. If you have any hearing loos or difficulty hearing, this product is not for you. Probably not any waterproof cases would be ideal for you. So it looses one star here. 2) touch response not as effective as it supposed to be, specially on edges. I literally had to touch 2-3 times on edging part. No issues with touching in central part (like dialing buttons or texting). Keyboard works just perfect to my opinion. on iPhone 6/6s screen if you want to touch back button (arrow) in any application (mainly in Whatsapp), than you have to be careful by touching more inner (medial) aspect of the screen. If you touch on actual go back arrow (to go to previous screen), it won't work on edging aspects of the screen. In short, touch quality not impressive. Again, I believe it's due to the built/design issue. So it drops another star here. What I liked about this product: 1) color: it offers beautiful color combinations-no more discreption needed as product photos are pretty accurate to my experience. It earns one star here. 2) Design: it didn't make my phone look bulky and it had a perfect fit. Cut outs, holes, and buttons on side work just perfect. It earns another star here. 3) Waterproof ability: I truly think it's amazing that it offers waterproof quality. No more worry for getting it wet in rain or pool. It earns one more star for that. In short, waterproof deal with slim beautiful look comes with compromise of volume quality and not so efficient touch quality (on edging part).

great cover
Best phone case is a Lifeproof one. I have dropped my phone sooo many times but this case has kept it safe. Haven't tried to see if it is truly waterproof but it has got wet a few times and it seems pretty good at protecting it from moisture. Best of all, the after sales service from Amazon to get a replacement cover under warranty was the best!

It's lasted 3 months!
Fantastic product. I didn't think it would last three months given how fast these things fall apart with everyday use. Usually the rubber lips around the edges of the screen, start to peel away, starting at the little door at the bottom where you have to use your nail to open it for charging. Also the flimsy glued in film window over the camera lens has usually peeled out by this stage. Now, I wouldn't normally have bought such an atrocious colour, but it was the only choice given the age of the iPhone 6S. This is the fifth of these cases I've owned, and it is actually surviving quite well with everyday life. That said, in my experience buying Lifeproof products, I suspect if I were into outdoor recreation, I'd have had quite a few phones with water damage, because these are only waterproof until they start falling apart. The one annoying thing with these cases is that sound is fed into the back of the case, where a series of ribs creates an echo chamber, amplifying the sound and counteracting the muting effect of encasing everything in plastic. Clever design, but it means that if you want to leave your phone on a surface and talk to someone handsfree, you have to lie it face down in order to hear the conversations.
