Q: Are the shoes made in Italy?

They appear to be of such quality that is associated with shoes from Italy.

Q: What shade of shoe polish do folks recommend for the "tan" version of these shoes? They seem to be more light brown so it's hard to compare online.

I work at a Johnston and Murphy classic store, and I would recommend using a light brown shoe cream. It conditions the leather while putting color back in it. Put a dime size amount on the shoe and use your horse hair buff brushes to get excess cream off and the shine you desire.

Q: Is it recommended to get the size i typically wear(12)? or a size smaller with these j&m shoes?

First I will preface my answer with, everyone is different. For me, JMs are true to size. The next 1/2 size up was too big & vice-versa for a 1/2 size smaller. I found this out by going to a JM store and trying on the shoes. If you have a store or outlet, go in for a quick sizing and then order.
