MM0202B1200 200-Amp Meter Main Combination

This is a really nice unit. It's compact and fits well in places where space is limited. Unfortunately we weren't able to use it since the power company in the area we used the meterbase combo wanted us to use ringless type meterbase and we had to replace it with one that was. If it were a ringless type that would be awesome.

I have installed 3 of these, all with underground conduit. Ring mount suits Entergy here. Someone reviewed wrong, saying that their box arrived with a faulty 200A main disconnect breaker. No, if it seems not to stay in On and Off positions, try lightly clamping a cable, or wooden dowel, in either or both terminal block holes. Somehow that will be detected, mechanically, no electricity required, so then the breaker switch stays put in On and Off position. I don't know if this, Not A Bug It's A Feature, enforces a minimum torque, or what, yet. Also, customer and fire department and electrician access to disconnect is a big plus

I recently installed a Generac 27 kW QuietSource natural gas generator at my residence, and while so doing upgraded my mains conductors from aluminum to copper and added an external main panel. Since I was going "whole-hog," I replaced the existing meter box (no disconnect) with this top-of-the-line meter with 200A breaker. This box comes with the breaker, and is intended for utility meter on the left to be tagged out by the utility and the breaker compartment on the right to be homeowner accessible. The box is very well built, and serviceable from underground or overhead service laterals. Mine was the former and I needed no additional components. I believe that for overhead service a weatherproofing adapter is required. This combo box is pretty compact, too; same height as and not much wider than my existing meter-only box. I am very happy with this purchase.

The insides was broke when received but nothing some glue wouldn’t fix. It worked but took longer than expected. It looked like it was broke durning transit, because the box was all beat up. 100% was not the sellers fault and will definitely purchase from again.

After several failed equipment attempts, this was the perfect fit. It was easy to install and worth the money.

I had to replace my outdoor meter box due to damage from Hurricane Ian. This worked great. Good quality and passed inspection with the county.

New NEC (2023) code requires a Emergency disconnect, after the meter on all new and updated services, overhead or underground. Special note ; most utility companies want a Ringless type meter socket. Look at the details.

It’s unfortunate that this meter base with disconnect can not be used in Canada. (In Ontario anyways) It is a high build quality meter socket, but only carries UL approval for the US, and the Ontario electrical code and ESA inspector will not allow it to be installed. This is despite the fact that all components inside the box are actually CSA approved, but the entire unit is not. Rules may vary from province to province, but it is more than likely the same across the country. Keep this in mind so you don’t waste the money on it, only to find out you can’t return it because the return date has passed like I did.

I disliked that this is sold on Amazon.ca but is not CSA approved. If it was I would have really enjoyed it as it seemed like a a quality item.
