Great buy, super lightweight.
I love this helmet. It is so much lighter than any helmet I’ve raced Bmx with. it is not the strongest thing when it comes to taking a crash as it broke last weekend in a big slam. But it took the impact as opposed to me so I’d say it is great. I would recommend it.

Half the weight, all the protection
This was purchased for our 8 year old grandson. I did lots of research on full face helmets for kids. This Smith full face weighs half of most of the others on the market. With all the additional padding included, a snug perfect fit was achieved. Kids don’t have the muscle mass in their neck required for a heavy helmet. I also wear a Smith bike helmet (none full faced) and it’s a great fitting comfortable helmet.

writing titles is the hardest part of the review
This thing seems bulletproof, but there are two issues with it:1) The MIPS makes a ton of racket. Every single time you move your head at all, it makes a squeaking sound. This can be a dealbreaker.2) The strap is probably the most secure that one can design a strap (like an old-school motorcycle helmet), but it's time-consuming to attach and unattach. And I paid $300, so it's very expensive, so I want everything to be ideal. There are competitors that make quieter helmets and quick-release straps, at cheaper prices, so I've been thinking of getting a new helmet. So I can't recommend this, but if you buy it, you'll have a very good helmet, as far as the durability, breathability, etc. goes.

Lightweight but sizing a bit too tight for me
I believe this would have been a nice helmet to use, however, my head measures around 56 cm just fit a bit TOO snug inside. I know it was said that you should wear the helmet for 30+ minutes or just wear it a bit to let the helmet set in with your head. I did just that, I wore the helmet for 30+ minutes, wore it at home for many days (not continuously) watching tv, doing work, etc. It did feel better than initial and I was getting used to it, however, the tightness was just too concerning. The reason is because the helmet is NOT adjustable for your dome (only adjustable chin strap), so I am concerned during the warm summer time frame (when I really ride around for hours at a time) I know my head will expand a bit. When I wear the half-helmets I have to constantly re-adjust the rear dial adjustment. I can't do that for this helmet, and if it is this snug against my dome now, imagine how much pain it will feel when I'm riding for hours at a time in the summer? The pressure points on several part of my head were very very tight, so I felt that the cushion lining would not have provided relief when my head decides to expand due to the heat in the summer. In the end, I had to return the product, but if this fits for you I recommend it as it is lightweight and feels solid. There ARE some creaking noise between the MIPS and the shell, but I did not feel bothered by it. I'm sure your mountain bike would make more noise, the creaking noise isn't loud enough to bother me at all.
