Locked and loaded for some heroic nonsense
First off, Ironhide is my favorite Autobot ever, so I had to buy this regardless, even if I already had the Siege version. Prowl however is a character of appeal to me, having a personality very similar to mine. Both using updates molds for their respective designs, this is a great set of two carbots to fill ranks for any display. Ironhide turns into his usual VW design, and while compromises were made, it looks quite good in most angles. His robot mode shines, with large stature and a good set of weaponry. I wouldve liked a more saturated red but its a minor nitpick. His shield has many uses and configurations and looks good in most of them. He has virtually no backpack and no hollow joints, a bonus to many who have found fault with that in this line. Great toy. Prowl turns into his signature "Datsun" police car mode. It is light, but sleek and while I enjoyed his Siege look, this is a great modern update to his original vehicle mode. In robot mode, he features very hollow legs, but I actually like the way they look. It plays off almost as a deliberate design aspect rather than a compromise. The robot mode has a great look and silhouette of prowl, and the simple color scheme hes known for is utilized effectively. He comes armed with one blaster that looks good in hand or stored on his back. If you already have the Siege versions of both of these characters and are very happy with those, you may not need this set. But for fans of these two characters or if you need these two to fill the necessary rank as quintessential Autobots, you will not be disappointed. These Earthrise figs are great for collectors and fantastic for kids building their team as well. As of the writing of this review these figures are sold out, making them difficult to come across. That may change, but in case it doesnt, the Siege versions of these characters are also solid and a bit easier to track down ahould you need them.

Great set, but why an Amazon exclusive?
First of all: this is a must get set for TF fans. Prowl and Ironhide are two of the main characters from the first year run of the Transformers. And this is the definitive version for both characters in the Generations line. Quality of figures is excellent, both look amazing. Hard to come up. With a valid complaint. ...except, why are these not mainline retail figures? The scalpers had a darn field day with this release (and the ramjet/dirge two pack, and green light/dazzlestrike, and Siege Skywarp, yeah- it’s a reoccurring problem) People hate Amazon exclusives for a very good reason. I was luck to get these figures. Lots of fans missed out and are now at the mercy of eBay scalpers. It’s hard to review this because on the one hand, yeah they are great, glad I got them, on the other hand, this set is going for insane prices on eBay and that means Hasbro probably never should have made this an Amazon exclusive in the first place. I mean look at all the Target exclusives: Redwing, T-Wrecks, Acid Storm/Ion Storm/Nova Storm three-pack, Runabout, the recently announced Road Rage... relatively minor characters. Pretty easy to get for the fans that want them. How about the Amazon exclusives? Generally very high profile characters that get snapped up by scalpers before many fans get a fair shot to get them. So in sum, there is a practically never ending litany of reasons to hate on Jeff Bezos. This is a incredibly minor one, but it ain’t helping. Just saying.

Cool figures, but the packaging. Really?
I’m happy with the figures. The new Datsun mold is EASILY a lot better than what Siege was going for. Prowl, Smokescreen, and Bluestreak look so great together. Prowl unfortunately has some white paint pissing on his helmet, so I might need to find a white marker to color it in or something. Ironhide is also really nice too, so here’s hoping Ratchet will also be satisfying when he comes in. While I am satisfied with the figures, I am not satisfied with the way it was delivered to me at all. Amazon, why would you put all the stickers of delivery details and what not on the actual box itself? Most importantly, why are you shipping the figures without another box for it to be safely delivered in? Did the Dirge and Ramjet boxset complaints not go through or something? Here’s hoping my Ratchet and Greenlight set won’t be coming in damaged.

Great collector's item. Hope you got one at release cause I think this was a limited release...
So I ordered this initially 2 days before the release of the product. My shipment was delayed until near the end of December but I did wind up getting it and having it shipped to me. Now, I treat this item as only a collector's item so the toys themselves aren't ever coming out of the box. That being said, the item came in perfect condition packaging and all. Amazon did a great job shipping this and I thank them for acquiring enough stock for me to get a copy of this item in the end. I hope those who did get this item whether they plan on treating it like a collector's item or take the Autobots out of the box for play are really enjoying this item because I do believe it is a limited release and Amazon likely won't get stock of this item again.

Awesome 2 pack, great versions of classic Transformers. Highly recommended.

Two awesome figures that I loved since I was a kid. Wish Prowl had his shoulder cannons

I already had the cybertronian versions of these two figures but wasn't that keen on their alt modes or all the kibble they had all over them, so I was keen to get my hands on this double pack and wasn't disappointed with what i got. Both Prowl and Ironhide look terrific and have an excellent range of articulation and really authentic looking alt modes and accessories - much better than the earlier figures - although Prowl doesn't come with any shoulder weapons, I presume because the cartoon and comic book versions this figure is based on never had them either. If I had one complaint it would be that Ironhide is what fandom refer to a "partsformer" in that the roof of his van is not integral to his transformation and is in fact a seperate piece that you clip on when you transform him and acts as a rather silly looking shield when he is in robot mode. The price was good and these figures are definitely in high demand so if you get the opportunity to snap these two up make sure you do.
