These are nice sturdy hinges that go well on a funky, pseudo-vintage sea chest I'm making (which is a toybox for a friend's kids....)Yes they are genuine bronze, and won't rust. Suitable for a genuine sea chest. They have a sturdy pin and leaves that I'm confident will last for years, through the heavy use a toybox gets.They are a little bit "loose" in that the leaves have some play to wobble a little bit relative to each other. But mostly, that's good in my case because it works with my pseudo-vintage workshop skills. The lid where I cut out slightly misaligned recesses for the hinges to fit in, is perfectly aligned when the looseness in the hinges allows the lid to slip a sixteenth of an inch sideways.
