Wow - amazing
I had a tough job --- removing an old crusted on shower door from a porcelain cast iron shower. I worked for hours scraping and peeling caulking before I turned to the internet looking for a better way. I was hesitant when I got it - the consistency of hand lotion and virtually no smell. I was expecting something harsh and foul smelling. So I put this on - directions said to wait 2 hours minimum. Being the curious impatient human that I am, I checked after an hour. It was already soft and easily peelable, but I waited thinking longer is better - think smart not hard. Even on the shower walls, which are not smooth but have a bumpy design, this stuff is working. Just take a razor blade and go to at it. Coincidentally, porcelain when scraped with utility knife does leave a grayish mark but stove top cleaner made for flat top stoves cleans and polishes porcelain tubs gently and beautifully!! 3M products always continue to amaze me. I will definitely turn to this product again and again when I am trying to remove caulking! Thanks 3M and Amazon!

Works well and no fumes!
This product works well. I had tried to chip away layers of caulk in the tub using a putty knife, a razor, and a caulk remover tool, and didn't get very far, even after heating up the old caulk with a blow dryer as I've seen recommended. I read the reviews for this product and thought I would give it a try. People had commented that leaving the product on for two hours per the directions wasn't enough time. I put a heavy bead on the areas of caulk I wanted to remove and let it sit for 24 hours. My experience was that the caulk did not come off in neat little strips. The remover turned the old caulk into a very soft material and it came off very easily with a putty knife and/or razor blade, like paint your scrap off wood furniture after you've used paint stripper. The parts where there had been just a single layer of caulk were easily removed. The areas where layer upon layer of caulk had been applied are taking more work. I got off as much as I could with the first application and have applied a second heavy bead of the remover. I've used about half the bottle for the two applications. I really like that the remover has little or no fumes at all. I still keep everything well-ventilated and I wear disposable latex gloves when I am working with the remover. Lastly, to make sure the remover wouldn't harm or discolor the fiberglass, before using the product I did a patch test by applying about a dime-size amount on the fixture and letting it sit for about 2 hours. I highly recommend doing a patch test first!

3M Caulk Remover is the BEST stuff in the world for removing old
3M Caulk Remover is the BEST stuff in the world for removing old, dried, hard, caked on glues, caulks, pastes, etc. I bought an older home from the 80s and in the shower was a corner shelf made of tile. It was being held up with just some type of caulk, glue or cement...I'm not sure which. One day it decided to break loose from the wall leaving behind only the stuff that had been keeping it in place. Now I was stuck with this residue line of dried, hard, crumbly, sticky stuff that was impossible to remove with a razor blade or scraping tool. I had used 3M other times in the past and remembered what a phenomenal job it did, so I set out to get some. Unfortunately, I could not find it any stores near me (and I searched hard b/c this stuff is fantastic). Instead, I tried other products from Lowe's and Home Depot, but had no luck. None, nada, zilch. These products didn't even soften the residue a little bit. The 3M arrived immediately with my 'Prime" shipping and worked like a charm. After multiple applications, the crud softened and fell off of the wall. THANK YOU, AMAZON for having 3M Caulk Remover!! You saved my bathroom wall from hammers and chisels!! this product did an excellent job of loosening old caulking in my bathtub
I have to give this product a 3 star review for the following considerations. First and foremost, this product did an excellent job of loosening old caulking in my bathtub. I would give it 4-5 stars for that feature; however, it had an unfortunate side effect. Our tub has a plastic bathtub surround, which had some sort of reaction to this product which caused it to chemically melt. Everywhere that this product came in contact with the surround it completely melted away the surface finish. So, the product performs as described, but your mileage may vary. Moral of the story; test in an inconspicuous area before you apply to the entire area, which I did. However, don't be so careful/inconspicuous that you don't actually get in on the surfaces that may have a reaction (like I did). Now I've got bigger fish to fry.

Good stuff but head the instructions.
I don't know how to caulk bathtubs. I try and I just don't get it and I messed another one up. I applied way way too much and the GE product I was using was horrible. It was sticky and turned into a mess. I ordered a DAP product a shower installer suggested and I needed to start over and there was so much dry, new GE silicon caulking I had to remove. Trying to scrape it out was almost impossible. It was too plyable and well adhered to the tile and porcelain bath tub. So I tried this. I covered all the areas and let it sit for four to five ours. Basically applied it liberally while I was home at lunch from work and started removing when I got home at night. It was still a chore but it all had losened and pealed out with ease. But head the warnings! I grabbed a sponge with an abrasive scrub backing to help scrape the caulking out. Everything started turning blue and I quickly figured out the 3M remover was disolving the sponge! I got a dropplet the size of a dime on my leather shoe and the black coloring came right off. Five stars because this made my life so much easier and did exactly what it says. But don't get it near certain plastics.

Makes a big mess
This just made a bigger mess than it was worth. I was removing the caulk around a tub/shower enclosure to re-caulk it. Where I used this product it took twice as long. Save yourself some time and effort and just use a Stanley Knife and a scrapper. After doing a short section with this product I realized what a pain it was and knocked the rest out in not time. If you have some really old and low quality caulk that has gone completely solid this may help. But I was removing some old silicone caulk that was moldy. It still had elasticity so was not a big deal removing with some tools.

This Works, Although Slowly
Admittedly, I had a very tough job. My late husband had caulked around a bathroom sink with indoor/outdoor caulk, not the bathroom sort. I wanted to repaint this bathroom and did not desire to try to paint over this caulk. It was spread liberally on the wall next to the sink. It took 3 days and 3 applications and a lot of elbow grease to get most of that nasty caulk out. I must tell you that if you have caulk on a wall this will remove it, no problem. However, it will also remove the paint underneath. Beware that if you use this on a wall you will have to repaint that spot (which I was going to do anyway, so I didn't care). This caulk was hard as concrete and it did soften it a lot. I doubt I could have gotten the caulk out without this product. My bottom line: I couldn't have done without it, I needed it, and it was worth every penny.

Works very well...
I purchased this product to aid in the removal of a shower door track along my tub. The track had been in place for at least 30 years. I applied the product and decided to wait several hours (around 7). When I returned, the edges of the caulk were loose enough to score through. Also, the end of the track had already been slighty lifted so the product got under there a bit. I was able to shimmy a scraper under the end of the track and wriggled, pushed and pulled back and forth. Some of the caulk did in fact come out/off. However, I realized that the caulk was hard as cement under the track and had been spread under the entire length/width. I reapplied the product and waited 24 hours. I went back and repeated my process with the scraper. This time I was able to remove some more caulk - enough that I was able to pull the track up off the tub a bit to allow me better access with the scraper. I then reapplied the remover again and waited several hours. This time I was able to completely remove the track. It took LOTS of elbow grease and patience, but overall I am pleased with the product. I definietly would not have been able to get the track off with out the remover. I only wish that a small straw/nozzle was included so one could be more precise with getting the remover into tight spaces.

Gotta Play the Long Game
I replaced our patio door and so I needed to remove 20 yr old caulking and this stuff really made a difference. The key with this product is you need to be patient and play the long game. I applied a bead of the product over the caulking, spread it over the surface (clay brick in my case) to ensure it was applied to all of the caulking, and then let it sit for two hours. Once the two hours was up, I applied another application and let it sit for another two hours. After that, it was significantly softer and much easier to remove, even flaking a little bit! If you're trying to remove a fairly thick bead, I would try applying two applications (as described above), remove what you can and then apply more to the remaining bead.

Perfect and work very well
Perfect and work very well. Softened the caulking for removal. Left overnight on the caulk and all was easily removed.

Meh
Didn't work very well. Exacto blade is much easier and less messy to use.
