Avocent Cybex 4 Port Secure SwitchView SC KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) Computer Switch

I ordered this KVM switch to replace a really heavy duty Belkin 4 port KVM switch. The Belkin is built like a tank, but when I went from 2 to 3 e keyboard and mouse consistently. I ordered another (used) Belkin and had the same issue. So I gave this unit a shot. Received the unit promptly and as another reviewer noted, no power supply is included. It takes a 6 volt, 0.7 amp power supply. I fished around the box containing all my old power supplies and found a 6 volt PS (0.5A but close enough).Hooked up the same three computers and the switch works like a charm. It is not nearly as heavy duty as the Belkin but it works well and consistently and is a really good value for the money. Because it is very lightweight, when I have all the cables hooked to the back, it wants to tilt backwards. I added some velcro to the bottom and to the desk it sits on and that did the trick.I would give this 5 stars if it included the power supply or was clear in the description that it is not included. Minus one star for that but otherwise a great buy. Buy a power supply and some velcro with this and you will be in business.

Worked right out of the box and, at least with the computers I have, did not need an external power supply. It is powered from the PS2 ports. I am pleased with the operation, especially compared to what I had been using. My previous KVM switch often would not be recognized if a computer was booted up while selected. With this switch, no problem. I've only had this for about a week, so I can't comment on the reliability, but it seems solidly made (albeit a plastic case). As another reviewer commented, it's not very heavy, so you need to either tie it down (it has screw slots on the bottom, or you could use Velcro) or tie the cables down, or both, to keep the cables from pulling it around.

I have not hooked this up yet, I totally should to make sure it works actually... I know the product as we use it at work all the time. It is a GREAT KVM switch. Very basic and does the job well. Just like any other electronic, you treat it right and 9 times out of 10 it will treat you right.

Does not come with a power adaptor. No clear notification that the power cord is not included. Borderline scam.

Das Gerät war neu und wurde schnell zugestellt.Die VGA-Büchsen am Gerät (15pol. Sub-D) haben das falsche Gender. Also ein Gender-Changer muss dran bevor der Bildschirm geschaltet werden kann.Das Gerät läuft offensichtlich auch ohne den optionalen Steckernetzteil.
