Raja Ravi Varma: The Painter Prince

I bought 3 of these as gifts for my sisters since we are originally from Mavelikara ancestral home of the artist. I had an older album from the Trivandrum Museum but this new version wins the prize hands down. I believe is has all or almost all of his paintings . The only thing better would be to own the entire original collection .

GOD SO ****ING BEAUTIFUL.

Always admired the great artist. Now I can see some of the greatness on my tea table with this lovely book. It has short description of the tale behind the painting which is icing on the cake. It doesn't contain all the paintings still it surprised me with some new pieces that i never saw before. And last those two page paintings are worth the wait and be pleasantly surprised.

The design and print quality enrich the value of the book. The author has inserted a good amount of a biography on the artist and a supporting story pertaining to every painting in the book. However, a few well-known portraits have not been included in the book. Too bad, as the book is worthy of a collector's item...

Had this in my wishlist for a long time. This large format art book is an absolute delight and contains an exhaustive collection of the painter's art works. It is simply exquisite.
