Park Tool Four-Sided Bicycle Spoke Wrench

I have owned myriad spoke wrenches through the years for BMX. I have tried proprietary wrenches/nipples like G-Sport Hex, as well. I always end up going back to standard brass nipples for durability over the lifetime of my wheels and the endless trueing process that comes from riding flatland on a daily basis for long sessions. This wrench is just the easiest to use, in my opinion, and the least likely to round edges on nipples so long as you have the correct size wrench.

I must say "its a dandy". Hard to find a Spoke Wrench that fits snug. This one does. I will gladly buy more Park Tools.

I've been using 3-sided Park spoke wrenches for 25 years now. I never saw anything wrong with them except for two scenarios: (1) older wheels where there was corrosion between nipple and spoke and (2) softer aluminum nipples from the late 80s, 90s, early 00s. In both those scenarios, if you weren't very careful, you were pretty much guaranteed to get some rounding on a few nipples. These new 4-sided wrenches eliminate rounding on soft aluminum nipples because they allow you to create equal force on all sides of the nipple, so nothing deforms. You still need to use a soft touch otherwise you may deform the nipple below the flats.With corrosion at the meeting of the nipple and the spoke, technique is critical. Lots of rocking back & forth to loosen the bond between the two parts. Then this wrench gives you enough leverage to tighten the nipple without rounding it. It may require oil on the spoke threads.Either way, it is much, much safer and easier to use this 4-sided wrench as opposed to the older 3-sided wrenches.

This tool can exert a lot of torque without stripping the nipples which I can't say about every tool I used for this purpose. Fits higher end bikes. It handles the smallest size nipples. You must measure the nipple size of your bike or guess well. Looking at a simple ruler was enough for me but calipers are best if you have them.

I can't be more pleased with this tool. I had considered some less expensive tools, but just couldn't trust that they were not the usual copy-cat junk from you know where...I had to true the front wheel on my Grandson's new mountain bike, and this tool just oozed quality, and was very easy to rotate and well balanced on the spoke/nut.Highly recommended!

I really like this spoke wrench. Much better grip on nipples. No scratches no slips.

Does what it says on the tin, really good secure fit on the spoke. Seems to locate on corners of the nipple and will not slip off.I very highly recommend.

Very much worth buying one of these keys as opposed to a multi size one. Look up which nipple you have and pick the right one accordingly. Makes trueing a wheel easy.

I couldn't have found a better qualitity tool to tighten my nipples, they are now twisted to how I like them.

Cannot beat an individual size spoke wrench. Don’t waste your time with the multi spoke key
