Don't think it's made to mix with hydraulic oil. Container only mentions sewage related, ponds, water stuff. GM has a leak detection product for Oil, fluids. I would think other companies offer them too.

Q: I need to find a leak in a white hot tub. Will this stain the tub?

Water dilutes it. I’ve used the dye in PVC pipes many times and after it’s flushed, the pipe is white again!

Q: Will this work to mark what weeds you sprayed with a sprayer?

If you dilute it I assume it would work. It's very concentrated but water soluble so it will wash off when it rains.
