You're crazy if you sleep on this rare gem!
The author's scholarship will make you sit back and question what you thought you knew! If you are in the tradition and noticed how women or the term 'witch' is demonized, this book will remind you how the negative bashing of women and calling them something from a European construct does not serve this rich tradition. Be prepared to be nourished and sit as this scholars feet as he remind you of your primal contributions to humanities existence!

Falsehoods
I threw this book in the trash. I’m sorry. But I did. It was filled with fluff. The references to Ifa weren’t correct and that stressed me out. I am studying under an Oluwo. He agreed that I should throw it away. Also, the value of a feminine being is not in her womb. So many women are not a portal for life and can’t have children. That line of thought that the main thing or the only thing that makes us special is having children is harmful.

Honors for the divine Mother’s and femms
What an amazing read! Washington thoroughly explains the history and continued legacy of divine feminine power. Her work is enlightening, inspirational, educational, and a crucial part of a full, decolonized understanding and practice of West African spirituality. Womxn are the thresholds between the spirit and the physical world. You will walk away with such an appreciation and and reverence for femininity in all its iterations!

I cannot put this book down
Ire Ogbo Ato -- Blessings to allThis book is a must have for all adherents of IFA and ORISA, and really to anyone interested. The book covers a most central topic/theme in our Traditions -- one which is more often than not misunderstood, both in the Diaspora and in Afrika. I really cannot recommend this book enough.I pray that OLODUMARE via the ORISA will continue to bless and protect the author and all those who contributed to her work. Ase O
