I Want to Be Baptized Board book – Illustrated, September 8, 2015

Cute book to learn about baptism, a little long but good.

Our daughter loves this book. The text is divided between the little brother's questions about baptism and his sister's answers in the form of fun, simple metaphors that make the abstract symbolism of baptism easier for children to grasp. Each principle is then divided in the back of the book, complete with song and scripture references that can easily carry into family home evening and primary lessons.I think it says something that the only negative reviews were from those who were not looking for an LDS perspective. If an LDS book is what you are looking for, then it's pretty much perfect. I usually like to buy my books secondhand, but as LDS books are harder to find I am willing to pay new for ones as outstanding as this. Definitely would reccomend the other books by this author as well.

Had to give 1 star just to give this review & have it be submitted! It only deserves it for illustrations but not content.Beware: This book is based off of Mormonism (Latter Day Saints) belief system (works based belief) where it is written, "Baptism is like a stepping stone.", and "Baptism is the first stepping stone on a path to return to your Heavenly Father." (A Christian/non-Mormon knows that baptism is just an outward act to tell others that we belong to God's family and it does not get us into or closer to heaven or God. Additional writings in this book are the following: "You need to be baptized before you get the gift of the Holy Ghost. (No, you receive the Holy Spirit when you accept Jesus as your personal savior) - "You need both so you can walk on the right path." & "Baptism washes away my sins" (*No, Jesus washed away my sins through his shed blood on the cross and I only need Jesus & the Holy Spirit as my helper to live my life) - "You are baptized so you can be forgiven every day" (No, baptism is not for daily forgiveness. We are forgiven the day we ask for forgiveness & truly accept Jesus as our personal savior!) - There's so much more, but I think I've made my point.I feel so bad for the children that are being taught these lies and go through life thinking they have to keep working for their salvation in order to go to heaven (like climbing a ladder or walking on "stepping stones" . And if they mess up (like any human being will do) then they fall down that ladder & have to start all over. How frustrating & defeating. It completely takes away from the importance of what Christ did for us on the cross. This book teaches kids that Jesus Christs' death & resurrection to save us from our sins was not enough. It teaches that we actually have to help God out with our salvation and securing our place in heaven by doing works, like baptism.

These are such cute books. We got the pray, holy ghost and baptism book from this author. Our 19 mo old loves reading these books. We bring them to church for quiet time books and she can read them over and over again. I love how the author teaches principles in this book. Well written and art is very cute.

Amazing book, my family loves the book, It's a great way to understand more about the baptism.

The message is simple. The pages are colorful. Nice book to share the doctrine in the gospel.

We love this addition to our home library . Its the kids favorite to pull at story time. Each time the oldest (4 yrs) says "i want to be baptized" when we get to the last page. Its a great compliment to the Holy Ghost is a Like a Blanket

Great, great resource- every Latter Day Saint family needs this! Although written and printed for the LDS church, it works fine for our RLDS family. We are going to use each page and the extra reference materials in the back for a study for homeschool.

All though I was disappointed in the product the seller was prompt to improve my impression of the company.
