Really good translation. Easy to read. Scans well

Great book

I really enjoyed this version of the Odyssey, being a fan of verse based translations. My only complaint is that my copy came with deckled edges. Not the end of the world, but I probably wouldn’t have bought it if I’d known.

Beautiful and very readable translation in modern English blank verse. This translation is very easy to understand and the rhythm and forward motion of the prose verse is very compelling. The story definitely comes alive in great detail. Highly recommended. This deluxe Penguin edition with deckle pages and French flaps is beautiful. Highly recommended. Voted one of the "Best Books of 1969" by Time magazine.

Fagles translation of his epic tale is excellent. Hard to believe this story written two thousand years ago still has relevance today. An insight into the best and worst of human behaviour. Very pleased with my purchase. Delivered in good time and condition as described.

Fagles gives a wonderful translation

Great deluxe edition if you love the cover and translation. But for any other reason do not buy this edition. Eventhough it is penguin deluxe, they are just paperbacks at the end of the day and the price is quite steep. The pages are a bit thin but other than that perfect edition of Odyssey.

J'avais essayé de commander ce produit dans différentes librairies parisiennes spécialisées, mais toutes m'ont répondu qui'l fallait attendre un délai minimum de trois semaines ! Amazon me l'a envoyé en moins de quatre jours ! Et pour le même prix.

Printing error, we received a copy from a bad batch with ribbed pages. Rest of the quality was good but this was unfortunate and i hope Amazon removes the bad books from the batch. Buyers beware!

Una obra excelente, traducida a un inglés accesible, no solo para poetas griegos. El papel resulta un tanto peculiar; no sé cuánto durará, pero para entonces yo ya no estaré aquí...

Look fantastic. Can’t wait to read it. Look, the pages isn’t broken or error in cutting whatever. It is intend to be like that. Look ancient. A history. It’s an art. You guys din’t realise that?
