Well this IS amazing
The product is good.... not AMAZING.... it's good. Very good perhaps. But meanwhile, what IS amazing is that these aren't everywhere... what exactly IS going on??! There should be thousands of these in all varieties on Amazon!I am personally off my tits with amazement that this is out there for sale. You HAVE to buy one now! - People just don't understand the ramifications. In case you were born in a cave, Apple, in their staggeringly esoteric 'wisdom', have decided that you only get a finite number of USB-C ports on their (reasonably) newer laptops (mine has 4). This 'port starvation' would be fine if you could amplify this to whatever you needed at home with abundant accessories... however.....Unlike USB A bus ports, you can't extend multiple ports with a generic hub or even daisychain them with any new Mac.... unless you buy THIS one hub!I have four ports on my laptop.... meanwhile I have a Focusrite audio interface, I have 7 USB C external hard drives, I have a card reader/ HDMI hub, I have a power supply, I have a second screen and I have a couple of other accessories on top of this. Basically, I need around 10 ports on a daily basis. This is normal, surely! In the old days of USB-A I could easily buy a hub that would allow me to connect multiple peripherals to my computer without issue. Prior to my laptop upgrade, I used to sometimes have 18-20 devices attached at any one time. Now, as a result of 'progress', I can only connect 4 units. Meaning that, if I wanted to transfer camera images from my SD card into my laptop, then I'd need to disconnect the power to my laptop to find a spare port - unless I wanted to dump other devices that were often related to the transfer. Dismounting an array of hard drives that are all busy doing stuff is basically a total nightmare! This hub goes some way to fix this. Although I still run out from time to time since it only has four ports. It doesn't enjoy having other hubs attached to it btw.... not surprising I guess. Also FYI I use electrical tape to hold in my mission critical cables when attached to a USB A adapter. I suggest you do the same. You'll see in the image the 'Heath Robinson' way I've lashed mine together - (excuse the dust, my maid's on vacation... oh wait, I don't have a maid!).FYI The tape holds in a USB-A hub that controls all my legacy devices and other USB-C devices I've had to downgrade to USB-A so that I can connect them all. This hub is great - but I'm just amazed that there aren't hundreds of them right now..... it's just an enigma how this is unfolding! I have read that it's to do with some kind of bus-chip availability.... but you'd think that those that invented USB-C would have thought of this prior to releasing the format on the world. What were these people thinking? - Why am I the only person complaining about this? - Where is everyone else on the planet!? Well me and you that is... since the only reason you're reading this right now is that you are suffering from exactly the same thing!Everybody needs this hub..... like thunder needs rain... like a needle needs a vein.... like a preacher needs pain....Buy it....but do so wondering why you had to hunt so hard to find it..... and why those of us who actually use computers for high end or commercial productivity have to be the ones that suffer from partially researched semi-solutions.Thank you Sitecom. I don't know where you got your 'four devices from one port' chip - but it turns out that you are the oasis in a sea of blind madness. I either want shares in your company..... or everyone else to wake up!

Great type-C hub but with limitations
Trying to fins a type-c hub years after it's become pretty much a norm for most devices is really difficult. I've only actually found tow devices, one is a IT nerd beast. The other is this little beauty. I use a lot of type-c devices on my MacBook Pro. I have my monitor connected power, hard drives, card reader, iPad Pro and iPhone. So juggling which devices I have is tricky. I have a USB hub but the data transfer rates are too slow for me. This device solves *MOST* of my issues. I say most because for data devices it's great. Yet it doesn't allow for power pass through (means you can not connect your charging adaptor through it) and doesn't support video (means you can't have your monitor plugged in). I've also found the device switches off if too much power is being used. I found I had problems when having a few hards connected. One hard drive was being used by Adobe Bridge, sorting some images. The other two I was transferring content from one to the other. The device couldn't handle the power load (screenshot of the error attached). If you have a MacBook Pro you'll have some spare ports to work with. Yet if you use this with a Mac Book with only one port, you won't be able to connect a hard drive and power at the same time. This is the same for an iPad Pro. For what it is, if you just use a lot of data devices this is awesome. If you need a bit more from it let's just hope Sitecom has another device in the pipeline because it is very much needed in this day and age.

Very useful USB-C Hub, but do remeber it does not support Thunderbolt!
This is a great little USB-C hub at a great price point. It is ideal for connecting USB peripherals to computers with only one or two USB-C ports. There is a lot of confusion about Thunderbolt (video) support with USB-C. Please note that this hub WILL NOT, like most USB-C cables support Video using the Thunderbolt protocol and neither does it claim to. Those reviewers who complain about this should read the specification carefully first before pressing the "buy" button. I've not tested it with a USB-C Display Port adapter. My use case was to simultaneously connect a Black Magic ATEM Switcher and a BlackMagic Design Speed Editor and a USB-C headset to an INTEL NUC that had a single USB-C port. For my purpose this device performs exactly as intended. No drivers were required for Windows 10. Incidentally, the BlackMagic Speed Editor takes its power from the USB-C port and also charges the internal battery, again this hub performs this function perfectly.Genuine review from Amazon customer in SE London.

It is absolutely rubbish
This does NOT support USB-c monitors. I was recommended it as a way to connect two DELL monitors to a DELL laptop but it is not recognised when connected. I have been through all of the troubleshooting things with the 'technical experts' at Amazon, and... it still does not work. FFS.Bloody annoying.I am now going to try usb-c to HDMI hubs as an alternative and hope that I have more luck. Aarrrgh.

Doesn't support (my) external mic
I'm not sure this powers peripherals properly. It certainly doesn't work for passing the audio for my external mic :/

ok this to me is a necessary purchase for MacBook Pro/air users
finally, I found a usb-c hub that is portable and isn't all usb-a/B ports with no extra usb-c ports, this is exactly what it says, a 4 port USB-c hub. I find it useful in particular for multiple SSD drives. this one can go to 5gbs but there is another that can go to 10Gbs. I found I can slave another hub off it but I'm wary of it but since its only as a backup for USB-B 3.1 hard disks it appears to work if its powered via a usb-c supply.. I think its not really meant to be used like this though...

occasione unica

Great device
Great device. Took a bit longer to get here but seems to do the trick adding just USB C ports if you need them. Small and compact and would be great for traveling.Only downsides are 1) cord to plug in could be longer and 2) is that it took a month to get here from overseas.
