Everything that glitters is not Gold!
I wish I would have purchased this as my first phone. I love it! Great value, good battery life, the camera isn't bad either. But more importantly a sturdy rugged guy phone. If you want a phone the can stand up to a rough, physical lifestyle, then look no further. I would definitely recommend this phone. This is an update to my original review of this Okitel WP5. I have had the phone 3 months now, and contrary to what they state, the phone is not super rugged and the screen can't withstand a drop . My phone fell out of my pocket getting out the car, less than a 3ft drop, and the screen cracked. I reached out to customer service about it and got no response. If customer service can't respond and stand by a product, in my opinion it's not worth buying. I would not recommend the purchase of their products.

Works with q link
2nd day in. Works with q link sim card. Just popped the sim card in and booted up. Comes with a screen protector on phone. This phone is thick! I'm a big guy 6'3" fits nicely in my hand. Its a lil more than half an inch thick. Feels alot more durable than my last phone. I'm not gonna just throw this phone around to test it's durability. Feels like it can take a drop out of my pocket.Picture quality is alot better compared to my old phone. If you move around alot it has a hard time focusing but when it's focused it beeps.I like red so the black an red is legit. The quad core processor might not be as fast as the octa core one for a lil more. It just take like milliseconds longer sometimes loading. Could be internet service at the time not necessarily the processor speed. This one works with the cellular provider I have, q link. The finger scanner might work better for others. I am a mechanic and my hands get dirty. Sometimes it won't accept the print.Overall this phone manages calls and apps efficiently. With days of activity battery lasts. IDK ith apps like tiktok running. Watched alot of YouTube tho.We shall see😁 very satisfied!

[UPDATED] Not durable at all ,mobile data issue (fix included)
Phone seems great, a little heavy (which I like), 2-4 day battery life depending on my usage, a few test drops and one accidental drop from a hoodie pocket and no damage. (THESE WERE ALL ON CARPET). Originally thought it was a decent phone, but the damage from a 3 foot fall from my pocket onto the sidewalk busted the screen, small glass strands get caught on my finger whenever I use it now.- ALL STARS. First drop from hoodie pocket onto hard surface busted the screen.-1 star for mobile data issue. After getting my phone switched over with AT&T everything seemed to work, calls, texts, and wifi. But my mobile data would only say 3G. I didnt think much of it but then NO mobile data would work. Just got a no connection error message on every app. It would never show 4G when my old Galaxy S4 would! More on this later.-1 star for support. Reached out to the official manufacturer, they told me to reach out to seller. Reached out to seller though amazon and they said return it and get a new one. But this wouldn't work for me as I need my phone and I didnt want to be a few days to a week without it. Went to google and spent a few hours looking into the issue and found a solution that worked when applied at an AT&T store. The mobile data issue was resolved by having the EMEI changed to a different brand. The person online I found who had that work used a Samsung EMEI, the AT&T employee who fixed mine used a google pixel's. After that change and a reboot, boom, all mobile data seems to be working with VoLTE 4G. Only change I've noticed is now my settings menu has a "customize your pixel" message at the top but to be honest that's convenient for changing my wallpaper.

It's a Brick ... House
Let's get one thing clear: this isn't a cell phone with a large battery. This is a battery pack that can make cell phone calls (and run Android, and play games, etc.) This phone is thick, heavy, and not stylish. My friend has an iPhone with a charger+battery case that is lighter and slightly thinner than my WP5. However, this phone feels _solid_. It feels like a brick with rubber bumpers.More than one person I've shown it to has said, "You know, I bet I can kill someone with this."I love the hardware (I'll get to the OS later.) Everything feels solid, durable, and reliable. Unlike the demo video, I've not used the screen to crack walnuts, encased it in ice, tossed it (still encased in ice) out a second story window, etc. However, I have dropped it, and the absence of that spike in heartrate is priceless. Yes, I'm sure if I do something silly enough, I _will_ somehow break it, but the mere confidence that my everyday clumsiness will not break it freed me from so many little clenches and twinges I didn't know I was making. The software costs it a star. (Disclaimer: I'm an "easy grader." If it does what I expect it to do, all of it, all of the time, then it's five stars from me.)1: Contacts + Phone app. Unlike my prior Android phone, this one- doesn't open to my favourites screen (which was 2 columns of 4 contacts each depicted by their picture)- doesn't always display the caller name in the call history. Sometimes, it does. Other times, it only shows the caller's number.- doesn't allow me to replace the phone app. It does, but, for some reason, inbound calls won't be picked up by the replacement phone app. The new app can be used to make outgoing calls just fine (and the Google Phone app has the aforementioned favourites screen), but the only way to accept a call is to lock the phone, then select 'Answer Phone' from the lock screen.2. The Clock app- The alarm page is one of those Wheel of Fortune UI where, to set an alarm for, say 12:30, you have to spin the minutes display until you get to your number. Yes, you can flick it and watch it spin, but the other UI where you just touch and drag the minutes hand to the 30 mark is so much faster and more exact.- It also doesn't display the "disable the next time for this alarm" control from the app. From the _notification_ I can tell it to skip the next time for a given alarm, but not the alarm app.3. There's just something about it and alternative launcher widgets - they're very difficult to add to the Home screen, and some of them, such as [Unread Gmail], just stop working after a bit. I've tried it with Square Home and Microsoft Launchers, and in both cases, the default ways to add widgets to the Home screen do not work- Microsoft Launcher shows the widget being plopped onto the given screen, but when you open the screen, the widget is nowhere to be seen.- Square Home displays the list of widgets (or sublist, if the app has multiple possible widgets such as Chrome), but tapping on (or pressing and holding) the widgets don't deploy them.If you go into Square Home settings | Behavior & UI | System widget picker, it will allow you to select the widget and lay it on the Home screen. However, the [Unread Badge] widget just stops working after an hour or so.Now, launchers having issues with widgets (and vice versa) aren't _directly_ the fault of the Oukitel WP5, but I've used the same launchers with my prior Umidigi Power phone without issues. Additionally, I've tested Nova and Niagara Launchers just to see if any app widgets (as opposed to widgets that come with the Launcher); they don't. I can't help but wonder if there's something about the WP5 that's causing this.Long story short, if you love having a bunch of widgets on your Home screen, this isn't the phone for you. If you don't care about them, or, like me, can adapt to not using them, then you're going to like this phone. So long as you have large pockets and a sturdy belt....
