This is a very very good saw for the money. Keep reding...
I have had my Delta for about a month. The research that I did concerning the motor failure is nothing more than plugging the Delta into a 15 AMP circuit. What else is on the SAME circuit, possibly a vacuum? On initial start up this Delta draws in excess of 13.5 amps for about a 1/4 to 1/2 second. After completing start up and at normal run, the Delta saw draws between 12 and 13 amps. Depending on the type of wood; hard or soft and the feed speed the saw draws almost 14.8 amps and on hard wood over 15 amps. This is no where near the 20% margin you need for any device. YOU NEED A 20 AMP CIRCUIT to properly operate this saw. Why Delta says 15 amps is on them and replacing motors under warranty if they will. BTW you can buy this identical Delta saw from Lowes for $700.00. That is where I purchased mine.

Good saw, bad, cheap part
When I got the saw I thought it was great. Easy to put together and all was aligned and it cut great. I made accurate cuts on hardwood and softwood. After about 4 months the motor started to humm and not turn the blade. I was also seeing smoke. A little internet search showed it is a common problem. Delta is using cheap weak capacitors that burn out quickly. Fortunately, there is a fellow owner that has sourced high quality capacitors and other suspect parts and making them available for $86. So now I can make my saw better and not loose my investment. Why Delta can't figure this out I don't know.

Junk, broke, no support.
I bought one of these. It was slow to start right from the beginning, and eventually stopped working completely. Delta claimed it was the capcitors so they sent me new ones. This didn’t fix the problem. Now they tell me it needs a new motor, and I need to bring it to a service center. The nearest service center is out of state. So I guess I’ll have to self quarantine for two weeks to get my brand new saw fixed. Not to mention, they havnt mentioned who will be paying the service center for this repair. And since I waited for the capacitors to come in the mail....I’m out of the 30 day store return window. So basically I’m stuck with a brand new, $600 paper weight. And neither delta or the store will offer support.
