Makes a mask much more comfortable.
I was a little sceptical of these to begin with being the plastic that they are, but I need not have worried. They are very comfortable, make your mask fit more snugly around the face and also make it much more secure. Stops those masks with elastic ear hooks from popping undone and very adjustable. Highly recommend.

Too short
This strap was far too short even on the longest hooks! Rubbish!

Mask retainer that works very well
Very simple little device that keeps the straps of a face mask off your ears and tensions the mask for a close fit. (That’s extremely important in keeping out noxious particles). Cheap and cheerful I’ll be making sure I have a stock of these available in the future. Also, I don’t notice it’s there when I’m using it.

Does not help making wearing a mask comfortable
Might work with children, or adults with a really small head, but simply useless for an average adult with an average-sized head (the contraption is simply not long enough).
