The rechargeable battery for the Pari Trek S makes the compact Pari Trek S nebulizer truly portable. The purchase of a rechargeable battery is optional when purchasing the Pari Trek S Compact Portable Nebulizer, however the battery is highly recommended to fully utilize the portability of the device.

Rechargeable battery not included with machine
It has been a while since I bought this unit, but I just realized that it never came with the rechargeable battery. Moral of that story is to always check and make sure you have received all the parts that are supposed to be there. The unit performed well when connected to the electrical outlet and had to be used more than once, and I was thankful to have it.

Do Not Buy...
Actually, I give this a 2 1/2 star rating. The nebulizer works fantastically well. However, I cannot recommend buying it from here (Amazon) because I cannot in good conscience recommend spending $261 for a device when other sites charge $140-$170 for the same product-with the same parts. Also, as an FYI, the total battery longevity is variable. Some reviews on other sites state the battery life on their devices begins to degrade between 3-6 months-but the manufacturers warranty on the battery is good for 6 months. Incidentally, I have had my current Trek Pari S for 3 years; I got it in January, 2020, and so far, the battery still works fine. BTW, BE SURE TO READ & KEEP ALL THE PAPERWORK. I give the device itself 4 1/2 stars (it is literally a life-saver for those with COPD and/or asthma, but the hyper-inflated price here deserves a 0. Hence the 2 1/2 star rating.

If asthmatic and use the battery, playing roulette with your life
I have tried Pari Trek S battery and nebulizer system for over 3 years. I have purchased over six batteries and six compressor units. Every SINGLE battery died with good care well within six months. After the first two quit I learned my lesson. I sent batteries back to the nebulizer store where I bought them. Finally I asked at the online store if others had returned and/or complained. The woman kindly told me “yes we get complayall the time” and they fixed a few of them under warranty but since I sent about four batteries back I received a call suggesting I go to another brand as they were getting upset about the returns. I am a 59 yr old active woman who had a bout of pneumonia a few years ago and live at a higher altitude. To count on this machine is literally Russian roulette. I am now trying respironics mi I elite system (had an old one and fired it up). Three days usage no need to recharge and better output. Pari trek batteries are a huge rip off and not worth your time. I am a medical provider and used to recommend to patients. Not anymore. The compressor u it (non battery part) works fine. But their are still much better systems on the market today. Don’t waste your money!

Battery is problematic
We are more fortunate than most in that the battery lasted a couple of years, but it was only being used as a backup or when we traveled. Now that patient is homebound it is being used much more frequently as it is quieter than the "regular" nebulizer and everyone is correct about battery replacement cost. Cheapest I've found is $150. Costs more than the machine itself.

The manual on the battery differs from what the manufacturer says.
I bought a Pari Trek S Nebulizer for the occasional trips that I make. I don't use it that often. When I was checking out the unit for an upcoming trip, I noticed that the battery has discharged. I ran the charger for the battery for days and it never recharged. I called Pari support and they said the battery was out of warranty. The warranty for the battery is only six months. Peri said that the battery should be recharged weekly. The Pari Trek manual says that if you are not regularly using the battery, the battery should be fully charged every six months. Of course, if you follow those instructions and the battery was defective, it would already be out of warranty. BTW, the compressor is warrantied for three years. The compressor can be replaced for as little as $73 but the battery costs over $100.

Find someone to replace the 18650 batteries inside.
If you carefully cut the plastic weld around the battery pack, you'll find a pair of lithium ion 18650's soldered and taped to the circuit board. It is possible to replace them with new 18650's from Amazon. It is a VERY TIGHT FIT in the case. You should read up on 18650's and how best to charge them. I am using an external 18650 SMART charger, again purchase from Amazon. Play close attention and replicate the circuit. I'm not sure if it actually uses the 8v and 4v power, but if it does, I suspect that's why these go bad so quickly. I'm hoping external charging will help and made the batteries interchangeable. When it works on the battery pack, it's literally a life saver.

Not worth it
I also have a peri Trek s nebulizer. After six months the battery quit working and would no longer take a charge. I called the manufacturer only to find out the warranty is 6 months, and I advise you to replace the battery every 6 months. Also was informed that the manufacturer doesn't even have batteries for this machine. Their supplier no longer has them. I travel a lot and frequently use this. Now I always have to find a place to plug my nebulizer in. Total rip-off
