How do you remove the extractor from the fastener? Its seriously stuck now that it's done it's job

Put part in vise or vise grips, then turn extractor clockwise.

will this work on left handed treads?

No they are designed for right hand treads only

Are they really solid cobalt or just coated in cobalt?

In my experience, cobalt drill bits seem to be anywhere from 5% to a high of 8% cobalt (called m42) so I think you're very unlikely to ever come across solid cobalt bits. M42 bits are usually really good bits but they are normally pretty expensive. Nevertheless, I really would like to know what the percentage of cobalt is on this set because I didn't see it mentioned. Because broken bolts which need to be extracted can sometimes be made of pretty hard material, it would be really nice to find some good m42 left handed bits.

will it fit a laptop screw?

As it says the smallest size is 1/16". If the screw is smaller than that then the answer is "No". If I were drilling out the screw myself I would put that bit in a drill press to insure drilling completely vertical to the laptop.

Durable

I bought this set over a year ago and it has been amazing. I’ve used a wide range of the sizes and they’ve all worked for me. Most notable for me is the 1/8 size extractor; I had to use it to extract 56 screws out of an aircraft windshield and the picture shows it after that. Has some wear but I can still use it. Definitely has given me my moneys worth.

Motorcycle Headstock damaged fastener

This saved my bacon and potentially expensive repair bill. Used a 3mm drill bit followed by the 1/8 extractor to remove two rounded / damaged thread locked M5 x 11 button head socket cap fastener. Worked a treat, thoroughly recommended!
