Q: About how long will this last? I need a distraction to keep squirrels out of my garden.

I have countless birds and squirrels on it every day. It is about halfway eaten after three weeks.

Q: Is this something that doves like? Hopefully, not. They outnumber our precious gambels quail.

As far as I can tell, every type of bird likes this. Doves are usually the last to eat due to being afraid of other birds, but I have seen them eating pieces on the ground..

Q: Are rats and mice attracted to this seed block?

Yes. We had to store it in a metal garbage can in the garage cuz it was attracting mice. When we put them out in the yard it was a hit with ALL the critters. Birds, rabbits, and ground squirrels.
