Perfect English Cottage

If you want ideas for your country home, this is the book to buy. It replaces months worth of Country Living magazines all in one binding. Photographs are clear, colourful and plenty. Country homes aren't always conventional in that they often have quirky corners and wonky walls, this book visits these types of homes and shows what other people have done with such spaces. If you have a room that you're struggling to arrange, the book will give you some inspiration as to how to arrange your collections and decide upon your interior decorating. It will remain my coffee table book for a long time to come!

I have several of Ros Byam Shaw's books. Always a bit worried that the photos might overlap, but the books are distinctively different enough to lust after the next set of beautiful imagery. Good quality and timeless, classy yet unpretentious style that is imaginative, liveable in, and very British.

This book is beautiful - the photography excellent and some of the settings were lovely - the only downside for me is that these were cottages bought and 'done up' by people with lots of money (not necessarily taste!) and I wanted to see 'proper' cottages - those that are truly 'lived in' and not used as holiday or show homes! Good inspiration though

I love this book. It seems to always come off the shelf on a winters night, when its cold outside and I've the wood burner on inside. I've not got bored of it yet because if you have a cottage like me or an old house, its perfect. Full of different ideas, designs, some that aren't to my taste but then that proves that the book maker has tried to reach out to everyone's individual taste. It's full of English charm, character and colour. I've took loads of ideas out of it. A great gift for a country girl or someone with an English home.

This was an utterly lovely feast for the eyes and very inspiring for our restoration - in a current world of modern sleek it's great to see current but traditional stylish settings- great choice to give as a gift too

I already had a copy of this book and loved It so I decided to purchase it for my friend for her birthday as she is also 'home interior' mad. She too loves it. Lots of pictures and information and a really enjoyable book to browse through giving you hundreds of ideas. This was a second hand book but it was like brand new, thank you. Great purchase and seller.

I am using it for reference…..looking at how others perceive English cottages .. and the difference between them… very interesting

I would recommend this book to those who like English Cottage style photography is good and it is full of ideas, but it does not give much assistance on how to attain the style on a tight budget. You have to use your imagination.

洋書は届いて中身を見る迄心配ですが、この本は大丈夫です（同じ趣味ならですが…）。 ターシャチューダーの家の様でもあり、キャスキッドソンの様な雰囲気もあり。キッチンやリビングに使われている花柄布地の使い方が素敵!です。Doll Housuの参考にもなりそうな楽しい本です。

I collect cottage related books and I'm happy to have added this one to my collection. Grab a cup of hot tea, snuggle up in a comfy chair and indulge yourself with the photos of some truly quaint homes. The accompanying text describes in perfect detail how to achieve the look of each room. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves the old English style of decorating where nothing is perfect or seems to even match, but somehow everything works together and makes you never want to leave home.

Das Bild auf dem Cover hat mich dazu bewogen, dieses Buch zu bestellen. Es hat meine Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Der reizend aufgemachte Bildband enthält zahlreiche Tipps und Illustrationen, wie man ein Heim auf die gute alte Art gemütlich gestaltet. Nichts für Leute, die es supermodern mögen. Aber für alle, die gerne selbst zu Nadel und Faden greifen, Handarbeiten machen oder noch alte Handarbeiten im Hause haben, einfach eine tolle Fundgrube an Ideen.

Very british at it's best! Ich liebe Wohnzeitschriften (vornehmlich englische und deutsche) und Wohnbücher. Bei den Engländern hat selbst das einfachste home einen unüberbietbaren Charme.
