The book is divided into sections on The Americas, Africa, Southeast Asia, Oceania and East Asia. It features a wide and fascinating variety of cultural art including clothing, vessels, masks, figures, baskets, headdresses, adornments, plaques, daggers, shields and bowls. The weakest areas of the book are in the very poor "maps," and lack of field photos to put the artifacts in cultural context.
