BLU Advance L5 -Unlocked Dual Sim, 16GB -Cyan

Bought this phone and inserted the SIM chip to activate the phone. Made about a dozen texts and called my phone to see that the phone makes calls. So, Today I have my first Real Phone Call and half way during my conversation the display turns Black. But I keep talking telling the person I am talking that my screen just went blank. After the call I try turning the phone off and on. Nothing I have a Blank screen. I check with Amazon and I can not return since it was 11 days past the 30 day order limit. The phone stopped working on my First Real Phone Call. BLU Customer Service is checking my story. My Brand New BLU Phone display is blank. And Amazon will not Help me.

This phone was awesome when it came out of the box. I loved it. The price, the look, the feel, the weight, the style, the apps, the works! Then a phone call came in, AND I COULDN'T ANSWER THE CALL. The screen stays completely black blank. No Answer button, no Ignore button. Nothing! A week later I still can't figure out how to answer it! And I also can't get it to make a peep when a text comes in! I contacted BLU (Blows Like Us) and they won't even respond! I went to Android central, THEY won't respond. And there are no manuals anywhere on the www that I can find. Android 9 Go can go jump in a lake. I can't believe this beautiful phone has such a major flaw. So I told the seller, and they said to "return it" without even a hint of hesitation. Which of course means I'm not the only person complaining about it. Shame. A really sweet little phone otherwise. I'M SORRY, did I say "phone"? My mistake. Because a phone let's you answer!

there is a small notch located at the edge of the phone between the glass screen and the case. you will need a thin flat tool which is not too wide to open the case. the tool should be of metal not plastic. you need to pry up on the notch slightly and the insert the tool down into the case between the back case and the phone itself. you then move the tool around the case loosing the case from the interior of the phone. you might need a second flat tool to get the case completely off. the key is that you are not prying the back case off by lifting up on the notch, but instead using the notch as a means of inserting a tool between the case and the phone so the case can be loosened off the phone by moving the tool around the case.

I know this phone has some bad reviews, but I'm going to review it for what it is. It's a cheap phone, it calls people, it sends and receives texts, it will play some less demanding games and it takes okay photos.Up against a Samsung galaxy, this phone would get absolutely demolished in every category except one, price! This phone would be yours to keep forever with a purchase price less than one payment on a flagship phone.So overall this phone is pretty subpar, but if you need a cheap replacement, a kids phone or just a burner, this is the one for you.

Still waiting for the carrier to send a sim card. After I get that I can test voice, texting and LTE data. I will update my review appropriately. For now I am giving it 3 stars because I did not expect a lot at such a low price. It came with a Tik Tok icon on the home screen. That is definitely not something that Intelligent people would want. The amazon product page did not provide full specifications. It turns out that the phone does not support the newer wifi band (5 ghz). It seems to work fine on 2.4 ghz band. I only need this to run the State Farm "Drive Safe and Save" app but when the sim arrives it can also be a backup phone. The reason I need a separate device for that app is that it uses too much resources to run on my "real" phone. This way I figure on getting more than enough discount on my auto insurance to pay for the phone. The $5 sim card coming in the mail is for freedompop "Freemium" plan. If I don't like that I will switch to Red Pocket $30/year plan.

I did this review to show how to remove back cover for installation of battery and SIM card which is very easy if only they added instructions in the box.Easiest method is to look for the notch at the bottom right hand side of the phone with screen facing you. Once you find the notch put your finger nail or any small object and open the back cover by pulling back wards.It will not slide off. Need to pull it off

Nothing about this phone works. We tried absolutely everything! We bought a pre-paid card and sim - it did not work. We took it to T-Mobile and set up a whole plan, they worked on it, we were there for 5 hours - it did not work. We then took it to Verizon and did the same thing - it did not work. We were sold a DUD. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. We've wasted hours and hours on this. Invest in something that actually works. This phone is awful.
