Light weight and effective. Bought it twice
5/12/24: the first one which I bought back in 2019 started to die on me. Since I liked it so much I ordered it again. This 2nd one has a stronger heating coil. I'm able to cook faster and at lower temperature settings than with the 1st unit. ... which makes it a better buy than the first one!Original review:I use this product often to heat up water and cook Ramen or spaghetti noodles. So far it's held up over the past several years and always gets the job done. Also easy to pack away when I'm done using it to free up counter space. Would buy again!

Cook Perfectly Hot
I've been using this single electric burner for two years, and it’s been really reliable. It heats up quickly, boils water easily and works great with small pots for simple cooking. It’s easy to adjust the temperature, so I never have to worry about it being too hot or too cold. It’s been a perfect backup in my kitchen, and I think it’s definitely worth it for what I needed.

Limited heat, yet functional and useful
The media could not be loaded. PROS:- very light- small and easy to transport- easy to store- heats up in 2-3 minutes- low price- very useful if you want to avoid too much smoke / smell in the house- can take a 12 inch skillet without it sliding offCONS:- limited heat (30-35 minutes for a pack of bacon - 2 and a half "rounds" in the skillet)- doesn't heat a larger skillet equally- feels a little flimsy and cheap

Excellent!
What an extraordinary little gadget! I admit it, I truly was afraid this was going to suck because it was so inexpensive, but I was wrong. This is a great little portable stove. I am a professional cook so I know a good cooking device when I see one. This is a great, powerful little helper in the kitchen. I will be taking it with me on a road trip soon , so I have given a good test run by cooking a variety of dishes and I was not disappointed. Cooking rice was required a bit more attention but it did a good job. Gosh I am sounding a lot like a commercial lol maybe they should pay me lol!

Worked, until it didn't!
This burner, when just received, seemed to work fine but now, after months of good use, it no longer heats. The burner shows ON, but never gets hot at all. It is now useless. In my original review, I gave it a better rating, and am reposting that original review in case it is helpful to anyone considering this, although now that it isn't heating at all, I would definitely NOT recommend buying this.Original notes: The instructions are sparse and seem to be for a different model (no explanation of the 5 settings at all that would help in choosing the right setting) and there's a big safety concern: the Off setting does NOT click in. It turns the burner off, but is easily moved from that setting to a heat setting, so if you leave this plugged in, there would be a serious chance of fire. You have to actually unplug this every time to be safe. Most burners have an Off setting that clicks in and stays there until you click it out to a numbered heat setting.Cleaning may be an issue: the instructions say one side of the heating element lifts for easy cleaning of the drip pan (this is standard and expected on most burners) but for the life of me, I can't get the heating element to lift at all.Until it broke within a few months, it did seem to heat well on the highest setting, so the 1000W advertised power seems correct.

Gets hot very quickly
I bought this for using in my work room to melt oils and butters for making cosmetics, soaps, etc. Even on the lowest setting, this thing heats up super quick. I can only turn it on for about 20 seconds and then off again, or it will get too hot. The coils get so hot, they start smoking and stink almost right away. Hopefully, it's just residual factory residue and not a defective item. My husband is very leary about it because these items are such fire hazards, but I don't leave it plugged in after I'm done with it. It was a good price so I wasn't expecting too much out of it. I've used it a few times now and it works for what I need it for. I just wish the lowest heat setting was a little lower.Edit 8/16 - I had the unit in its box and dropped it accidently. Ended up with quite a large dent on the side - the metal is very thin and dents easily. Now the front part is seperating at the seam. I'm going to try to bend the metal back to its original shape because I don't think it's safe to use with a gap into the inside of the unit.

Perfect for what it was intended
I know it is not "Camping", but I bought two of these to use when camping with friends at campgrounds that have electric hookups. Much easier to take this than my propane stove. I bought 2 singles instead of one double burner as I wanted the higher wattage, and with the difficult to clean coil top, I wanted to have them far enough apart that splatter from one pan does not get the other non-used burner dirty. I tested this at home and found that it was able to bring 3 cups of tap water to a rolling boil in 7 minutes. Maybe not as good as the big burner on your stove, but it does the job. One thing I did notice. The picture clearly shows 4 levels of coils. The one I received has only 3 levels of coils, but when I check the UL listing on it, it says 1000 watts. I tested it with a kilowatt meter and it is drawing about 950watts, so I would say it is pretty accurate.
