The original battery I had in my 2008 MacBook pro was almost ten years old with several THOUSAND cycles on it. That being said, when I started running high-demand Windows applications, the battery would just give out. It would die even if it was fully charged without any warning.I read some reviews and decided to give this battery a try. The price was great, with lots of good reviews. So why not?I'm glad I bought this battery. It has restored life to my Mac, allowing me to also be mobile. No need to carry a charger everywhere anymore!Installation is absolute cake on this laptop so don't worry about that at all. Just get the stinking battery and call it done. You'll be happy you did .

The best $28 I ever spent on a computer battery. My late 2008 MacBook Pro unibody was all but consigned to the closet due to its age. Its battery life was far too short to do anything meaningful unless it was constantly plugged in and I thought it was game over. After reading a few reviews on Amazon that a battery from LQM® has worked out extremely well for others in a similar situation, I decided to give it a try. There was the question about whether I should get a genuine Apple battery or a generic (cheaper) compatible model, but considering that my computer is 8 years old, I decided to go with the latter. The difference has been night and day. My MBP has a brand new lease on life, being very usable and, together with an easy RAM upgrade, is now being used daily again with great convenience. An interesting discrepancy I found was the product specifications mention this should be a 61Wh battery. The model that was shipped to me (A1281) has 56Wh lithographed on it. I haven't lost sleep over this, as my MBP now runs longer on a single full charge cycle (approx. 4 hours on a typical workload that is not consistently CPU intensive or makes use of the Superdrive) than it did with the original Apple battery back in 2008. For the price I highly recommend this battery replacement for this somewhat dated (but by no means out-dated) computer.

This battery has been fantastic!!! I bought this battery as the battery in my Macbook Pro wouldn't last more than 30min on a full charge. I was skeptical at first, and even worried it would harm my computer. But I have been using it for nearly a year and it has been fantastic. Given its price It is a definite buy. I now can get 2 to 3 hours on a charge which is I think about as good as the original battery. Considering the price I love this battery. I get that a lot of these batteries are kinda hit or miss so I can't say for sure the one you get will be as good, but I can say this was cheap, reliable and brought new life to an older laptop. Not bad for $20. If your looking at this review, its likely you don't have a ton of options. Even if you can buy a genuine Apple battery for your really old Macbook, its gonna cost a small fortune. So that leaves third party batteries. Don't buy them on eBay, I can promise you will regret it. This was the most well reviewed one I could find on Amazon, and the best price too. For $20 I would buy this again absolutely.

I admit that I was a little suspicious of the quality of the battery at this price point, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The fit is perfect, the installation was very easy (to be fair, I have installed many of these batteries in the past, it may be more challenging for a first time installer). It seems to hold a charge as expected. I may update this review after I have used the battery for a while, but as of now, I am very pleased with both the fit and the performance.Update: I have had the battery in place and in use for a month. It is performing well and has breathed much needed new life into my old MacBook. My use tends to fluctuate between compute/disk intense and passive, so the duration of the charge does vary, but not as much as I expected. I am getting about 6 hours between 100% and 25%. Bottom line, I would buy this battery again and I would recommend it.

I went with this battery, because it was relatively inexpensive compared to others, and it advertised a 12 month warranty. It worked fine for a few months, then my laptop instantly shut off when I unplugged it from the charger. I did all the standard laptop resets PRAM and SMC, but it came down to the battery. I tried using my old battery, and it worked, just limited battery life.So I decided it was time to take advantage of the advertised warranty. Amazon told me to contact the seller, the seller told me to contact Amazon.Tried finding a website for the seller, but no luck.I would not recommend the experience, or paying money for a product that promotes false advertising.Due to Amazons lack of interest in taking responsibility for its sellers, I’ve been seeking Amazon alternatives, and recommending alternatives to friends and family.

First off, this battery works just fine. When swapping this new battery out for my old one, I noticed that this battery is noticeably lighter. I paid three times as much for my old "premium" replacement battery, and it only lasted less than two years- so I decided to try this cheaper option. Only been using the new battery for a few weeks now, and battery life is not spectacular, but workable. When browsing the internet, maybe watching some videos on the 'Tube, this battery will last about 1.5 hours on a charge. Keep in mind that the battery is installed in an 11-year old laptop, which is not anywhere near as efficient as newer laptops.
