Wish that they were both cold and hot, but it works well for the icing. A friend injured her knee and we put this on immediately and there was no swelling. The smaller individual ice pockets remain flatter than the bags, but they also warm up faster than the bags and the bricks. These can be used if they fit in the sleeve, just make sure you don't leave them on more than 20 minutes. A must have for post knee surgery if insurance doesn't cover or you can't afford to rent the cooling machine. (Great for post knee and shoulder surgeries.)The design is excellent, because you don't have to sit and hold it. I think that probably would make us feel even more injured or miserable. Instead, you can get on with your life.It's good to always keep one of these in the freezer for injuries and headaches. My Ortho does not want it used on anything after 24 hour of the injury.It is great for headaches.

These function very well- once frozen solid, these will provide therapeutic levels of cold for at least two hours. The velcro is very strong, and once tightened down, these aren't moving anywhere.Whatever you do, do NOT buy the white TheraMed ice packs with detachable straps. They are a ridiculously inferior product and will break on you within the first few uses.With these, there is a small possibility that you can puncture the plastic and let the solution out, but you can expect that to not be a danger for at least the first few months to year of regular use. Also, the hooks tend to "shed" from the strap, and you might find them embedded in your fingers or skin. This is a small caveat for me, as I really just care about the longevity of the ice and the ease of use.

They stay cold but they don't conform as nicely as the regular gel packs. My kids preferred the regular gel ice packs.

I have the old version of this I have used for years. This one they fixed the opening to fold over so the icepack doesn't work it's way out and poke you. Love it for my chronic pain and now hot flashes. Stays cold and the holder is perfect to not get wet and no direct skin contact.

I ordered two of these. One of them seems to work okay, but the other one completely leaked as it thawed. I rested it on my neck as I drove to work, and when I stepped out of the car my back and seat were both drenched and the pack was actively leaking its pink fluid out. Not worth risking your clothes!!

At work a guy has one of these in the freezer (with the box) I had to use it all last week. So I took the box and bought one for my house! I have a bad knee so it’s perfect. Large, wraps around and stays cold for a long time. Worth it.

Work has one of these and I have gotten 1 in the past. I bought another one to switch out. It is very long lasting and wraps around my knee. I now have 2
