HugoMobility 731-458 Adjustable Offset Handle Cane with Reflective Strap, Carbon Swirls

I purchased mine in August 2013 and use it for Outside travel only. It is a great cane for that which is why I was using it. I have a different set for inside. This way I don't track dirt inside the house or worse yet bring a wet cane into onto a hardwood floor.Before I speak about anything negative let me talk about the positive qualities. It is great for me being 6ft. 3in., it has easily accommodated my height. I've used it on the grass with no problem and a using in the snow has been fine. Going from wet to hard floors has been tricky but otherwise it has been a trustworthy companion during my travels. The handle have been very ergonomic in managing my pressure points so that I don't push too hard in certain areas leaving my hands rested even after long walks.The Hugo canes have worked great for me for that last 8 months outside but now one of them has a hole right in the center where the middle rod/cane is. The metal post has pushed through and now the rubber tip is around the cane instead of at the end of the cane. Basically the cane just went right through the tip, weird, of all the things to happen. The other one is perfect, no problems with it, no abnormal wear.The other canes that I use are in great condition and they are used way more and I do mean way. If you were to count how much more it would easily be 3 to 4 times over that last 8 months given my condition. I would just keep that in mind if you purchase these. The tips are not as hard as the rubber as say an Invacare but then again perhaps that has help too. Best of luck and I hope you or whomever you are purchasing for the best.

I had foot surgery and knew I would need a cane. It was supposed to be supplied be the facility, but was not. Actually that turned out to be a win-win for me.This cane is super. The offset handle is best for those who may really need to lean on it and might also have other musculoskeletal issues, like I do. The hand grip shape is ergonomic and padded nicely. It still can bother my hand because of my arthritis, but that would be the case for anything. The height of the cane is adjustable quickly and easily so you can find the exact comfort place for your walking grip.I purchased this in the blue. It is beautiful and bright! I love color and blue is one of my favorite colors. I did purchase the Hugo quad tip for added stability without having a cane with the gigantic four prongs. That helps a lot and is not noticeable at all. It lets your cane stands up on its own too. Hugo Mobility Quadpod Ultra Stable Cane Tip with Compact Quad Design, 3/4 Inches, Black The only thing that I dislike is the Hugo label that is displayed prominently on the cane. You cannot remove it without damaging the finish. Another reviewer felt the same way.I have another foot surgery in a few weeks and then when I am back at work teaching for the fall semester I will need my cane for a while. At least it is a little more on the cooler side and my college students will not think I am ready for retirement. :)

I would give this cane 5 stars, except that it arrived well packaged but with two deep gouges in the metal staff. You have to be close to it to see those, and my vision isn't so good. My aide put the Hugo quad base onto it for me, and I absolutely love the color. I also love the balance of it and the feel of the handle. I've had canes for years, and these Hugo ones are the best ever. I have a blue (gorgeous) and a great pink one, all with the bases.My balance is really poor due to many years of respiratory allergies, ear damage, etc. I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 35 years, so I need a lot of support. Outside the house I use a great Hugo rolling walker (I can boogie with that!), but inside the house the cane works well.When I go out with the walker I try to take a cane, too, because it allows me to slip into spaces where the walker can't go. The quad base lets one cane do for me what it previously took two canes to do, one on each side, to support my balance well enough. That left me NO free hands, yikes! Plus it throws me off balance to bend to the floor and pick up a fallen cane. I don't have to do that with the Hugo base I can lift with a foot.I was disappointed with the warranty service on this, but I did throw a monkey wrench into the process by telling them I would NOT return it. So, I have a cane with two gouges on it that don't bother me much, and this review gets only three stars. It is a great cane and I adore the color. The Hugo quad base I purchased separately, and it is aces.

I really love my cane. It is so nice on my hands which are hypermobile and easily injured. The first try, I wasn't sure because my hands are so sensitive to position, but the more I use it, the more I love it and my hands seem to be handling it a lot better. The cushioned tip also seems to lessen the shock. I don't mind so much the large logo, though it would be nice if it wasn't there. I was sad when I protected it so much and still ended up with a scratch on the curve, always my problem with canes. The strap is thin and maybe a little flimsy, but no problem so far. The cane seems a little different height (minimal) from my old cane settings and I think I like the difference better with this one. All in all, I am well pleased with this cane and especially at this price, a great deal, the same I spent on the one I bought from the physical therapist.

This cane has a unique handle that is more comfortable with long term use than the cheap ones you can get at the Drugstore. Those have a foam handle this Hugo Cane has a silicone handle that helps give you shock absorbency in your arm so you don't get sore using it. In the summer my hand doesn't stick to the cane. I love this cane so much. I have owned two of them in four years because over time the silicone wears away with daily use but it lasted four years before I needed a new one. The other canes from the drugstore only last a couple of months before the foam starts to wear away and come off in chunks.
